This morning, right after the flag ceremony, the Science Department immediately set the stage for an exciting start. 🎉 A big thanks goes to those who gave wonderful intermission numbers, which added energy and life to the program.

Afterwards, important information about the month-long celebration of Science Month was shared. The upcoming activities scheduled every Friday were also discussed, led by Ma’am Pariña and Sir Angel, who encouraged everyone to take part and enjoy the events prepared.

Meanwhile, the other advisers from the Science Department were assigned to their respective areas, attentively listening and engaging with others, ensuring the smooth flow of the program. 👩‍🏫👨‍🏫

As part of the opening, the candidates for the much-awaited Mr. & Ms. JSTNHS Pageant confidently took the stage. Each pair proudly represented their respective departments, striking poses and playfully teasing the audience, which added excitement and anticipation to the celebration. 🌟

Indeed, the opening program sparked curiosity, joy, and enthusiasm—setting the tone for a fun, meaningful, and knowledge-filled Science Month 2025. 🔬🚀

Before the end of the school year, last April 3, 2025, the Science Club officers had a comprehensive meeting to assess the effectiveness of the activities, individual performance of each officer, and make recommendations for the club's improvement to accomplish its annual goals based on the action plan crafted.

The special meeting was spearheaded by the Club President, Steven Jay Salas and Club Secretary Nicolette Joyce A. Caducio on behalf of Maureen Bordonado, the Club VP. The Club President emphasized the necessity of collaboration among all helping hands and the ingenuity of all officers to ensure the success of each activity. Rubie Calnea, the Club Auditor, Hanna Victoria Miranda, the Club PRO, Isaac Matthew Calvero and Fritz Angelo Bacalso, the Club's peace officers, and Raizza Decena, the Club's Social Media Manager, were all present throughout the session to share the pros and cons of the activities conducted. Hannyleth Miranda, the Club's muse, and Prince Justin Cañeda, the Club's es**rt, shared thoughts during the gathering. Year level representatives were also present to ensure that different perspectives are considered: Andrei Dominic Malda and Mary Grace Marcine from Grade 12, Peil Mae Espanta and Jasmin Cueva from Grade 11, Frensis Elizon and Kim Ivan Poblete from Grade 10, and Nino Angelo Jacinto from Grade 9.

Lastly, The meeting was adjourned with a closing remark from its adviser, Angelo G. Rosales, acknowledging the officers' effective leadership during the year.

Addendum: A special thank you to the Science Department teachers for providing snacks for the meeting which was spearheaded by Jazmine Araña, the Club Treasurer.

LOOK‼️👀 Last October 17, 2024, at the municipal gymnasium where the Psychosocial Activity was held, the Science Club Officers took part of the oath taking ceremony. There, the newly elected Science Club Officers pledged their commitment to their position within the club.

"Competition is great, but Collaboration is where magic happens." ✨

Here's to everyone who played an important role in making the recent pageant a success!

Thank you very much to the officers and adviser of JSTNHS-SSLG, the Mathematics faculty, the MAPEH Club and its faculty, and the Science faculty and club members! We appreciate everything the team has done to get things ready for the show.

We would also like to thank everyone who worked so hard for this event. We would like to thank you for your initiative, creativity, and dedication; you are truly an inspiration to the rest of the school community.

This prestigious event would be impossible to hold without your assistance and efforts. Kudos to everyone for a job well done!

IN PHOTOS | Juan S. Tismo National High School valiantly joined the 2024 Leyte Division Science and Technology Fair.

The smart and skilled students of Juan S. Tismo National High School gave their all in several competitions at the recently concluded 2024 Leyte Division Science and Technology Fair held on October 2-4, 2024 at Burauen, Leyte.

Emmanuel Casas finished in the 6th rank in the Grade 9 Science Quiz Bee, out of 124 participants from various schools.

Kim Ivan Poblete was among the top ten students in the Grade 10 Science Quiz Bee, out of 126 competitors.

Steven Salas was also ranked among the top ten finalists for the Science Quiz Bee- SHS Category.

Meanwhile, Grashella Ballais, Nicolette Caducio, and Althea Mae Las advanced to the top 22 semi-finalists in the Science Debate, out of 43 debating groups from various schools. Naomie Oribe and Marie Barsana represented the school in the Science Quiz Bee for Grades 7 and 8, respectively.

Also, our young creative men demonstrated their unrivaled talent by competing in poster and scrap art making contests.
Charls Cinco was named one of the top 16 Science poster makers, and Elezer Roa shown great talent in the Science scrap art competition.

The Science Department and Science Club would like to thank our beloved parents for their trust and unwavering support, the SPTA Officers led by President Mrs. Marjorie Iglesias for financial support, Ma'am Ma. Nelly L. Peñaranda for assisting with preparation, and our ever-supportive School Principal Mrs. Betsy Grace V. Navarette who never doubted our students' skills and brilliance, and the entire Juan S. Tismo National High School community.

Indeed, our coaches' and students' diligent efforts and scientific ingenuity have paid off! Congratulations again, Juanians! 😇.
