Your Result Is Not the End. Your Comeback Starts Here.

Hindi madaling tanggapin kapag hindi naging pabor sa’yo ang exam result.

You invested time. You sacrificed. You spent money for your review. And now, you’re being asked to start again.

So here’s the question:

What if starting again didn’t have to cost you the same amount?

Gear Box Review Center wants to help qualified retakers get back into preparation with 50% OFF our REVIEW ONLY programs.

FACE-TO-FACE REVIEW ONLY
Regular: ₱22,000
Retaker Rate: ₱11,000

ONLINE REVIEW ONLY
Regular: ₱9,500
Retaker Rate: ₱4,750

This isn’t about pretending the setback didn’t happen.

It’s about making sure one result doesn’t become the reason you stop.

To qualify, simply present your NOA and PRC Result as proof that you took the exam and did not pass.

Important: The RECALL Program is not included in this specific offer. But if you decide to continue with RECALL, we can still extend a 50% discount for that program.

You’ve already come this far.

Would it make sense to give yourself another serious shot—this time with GBRC behind you?

Future Engr., you've read that page four times today.

Not skimmed — read. Highlighter and all. And when you closed the reviewer, nothing came with you. So you opened it again, because opening it feels like studying and closing it feels like quitting.

Here's what's actually happening, and it isn't a discipline problem.

Rereading builds FAMILIARITY. The page starts to feel known. You recognize the layout, the bold terms, where the formula sits on the page. That feeling is real — but it's recognition, not retrieval. And the board never gives you the page. It gives you a problem and 90 seconds and no bold text telling you which equation you're inside of.

So stop measuring your review in pages read. Measure it in things you can produce from a blank sheet.

The test — after ONE pass, close the reviewer and write three lines:
1. What quantity does this equation actually give me?
2. What are the units of each term?
3. What assumption makes it valid — and what breaks it?

If you can't write those three, the fourth read won't fix it. Neither will the fifth. That gap isn't a reading gap.

Try it on Bernoulli. Most reviewees can write the equation. Fewer can tell you it's an energy statement per unit weight — that every term is a head, in metres of fluid. Fewer still can list what it assumes: steady flow, incompressible fluid, along a single streamline, no friction losses, no shaft work in between. Which means the second a problem hands you a pump, a long pipe with friction, or a compressible gas at high speed — you don't reach for it raw. You reach for the energy equation with the loss and work terms in place.

That's the difference between knowing a formula and owning it. And you can only find out which one you have by closing the book.

One pass. Blank sheet. Three lines. If it comes out clean, move on — you don't need read number two. If it doesn't, you now know exactly what's missing, which is infinitely more useful than the vague dread of "hindi ko ma-absorb."

You're not slow, Future Engr. You've just been grading yourself on the wrong output.

Ganito namin pinapa-check 'to sa review — hindi kung ilang pages, kundi kung ilan ang kayang isulat nang sarado ang libro.

ASHRAE Standard 62.1 gives a designer more than one way to establish the minimum outdoor air intake for a space. In one of those routes, you do not use the prescribed rate per person and per unit of floor area at all. Instead, you identify the contaminants of concern, set target concentration limits for each one, and demonstrate by design and analysis that the space stays at or below those limits, with occupant acceptability taken into account.

What is this design approach called?

A. Ventilation Rate Procedure
B. Indoor Air Quality Procedure
C. Natural Ventilation Procedure
D. Multiple-Zone Recirculating Procedure

Journal bearing design. The coefficient of friction is plotted against ZN/P — absolute viscosity Z, times journal speed N, divided by bearing unit load P. The curve falls to a minimum, then climbs again. That minimum value of ZN/P marks the dividing line between thick-film and thin-film lubrication, and it carries a specific name. What is it called?

A. Sommerfeld number
B. Bearing characteristic number
C. Bearing modulus
D. Petroff number

In boiler operation, the sudden and violent discharge of slugs of boiler water carried out with the steam leaving the drum — usually triggered by an abnormally high drum water level or a rapid increase in steam demand — is known as:

A. Foaming
B. Scale formation
C. Priming
D. Caustic embrittlement

Future Engr., you saw the post.

Red sablay, the ID card photo, the caption in all caps. Someone you sat beside in Machine Design. You typed "congrats bro" and you meant it — and then you put the phone face-down and just sat there for a while, hindi mo alam bakit ang bigat.

Here's the thing nobody says out loud about that feeling: it's not envy. It's the suspicion that time is a scoreboard and you're losing on it.

It isn't. The ME licensure exam is scored against a fixed standard, not against your batch. Nobody's passing rating consumes a slot you could have had. There is no curve. Your classmate clearing it changes your exam by exactly zero. What it does is give you data: the material is passable, and someone you know did it.

But you're not asking for comfort. You're asking whether your review is actually working — because your mock scores keep bouncing around and you can't tell if that's progress or just easier problem sets.

So stop using mock scores as your progress meter. They swing with problem selection. Use this instead:

Every problem you get wrong, write the source and problem number on an index card. Date it. Do NOT re-solve it that day — reading the solution right after failing feels like learning and mostly isn't. Seven days later, pull the card and solve it cold. Blank paper. No notes. No formula sheet.

Then sort what happens:

— Solved it clean → that's real retention. Retire the card.
— Knew the approach, botched the arithmetic or units → ex*****on problem. Drill under time, not more theory.
— Stared at it blank → you never understood it. Reading the solution again won't fix it. Go back to the concept.

Count your cold re-solves per week. That number — not your latest mock — is your actual progress. It goes up slowly and it doesn't lie to you.

Your batchmate ran their race. Anong ginagawa mo ngayon ay hindi paghahabol. It's your own clock, running properly.

Keep the deck. Keep going. ⚙️
