𝟮𝟳𝟱 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗡𝗦𝗧𝗣 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗮𝘁 𝗔𝗦𝗖-𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀

A total of 275 students—225 from the Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) and 50 from the Literacy Training Service (LTS)—graduated from the National Service Training Program (NSTP) on May 31, 2025, during a ceremony held at the Apayao State College–Conner Campus, EKB Gymnasium, spearheaded by NSTP Coordinator Mc Ornoc T. Lamao.

The ceremony was attended by Campus Academic Dean Randy Cabilatazan, DPA, special guest Michelle T. Cebu, and keynote speaker Kelly Legman Kengay, R.N., who each delivered messages of pride, encouragement, and inspiration to the graduating students.

Kengay in his speech praised the students’ dedication and active involvement in their community service programs, underscoring the NSTP’s crucial role in fostering civic consciousness and instilling a strong sense of responsibility among youth.

The event also recognized outstanding student-performers, with awards given to deserving graduates who demonstrated exemplary performance and leadership throughout the NSTP course.

Apayao State College-Conner Campus, under the supervision of Mc Ornoc T. Lamao, NSTP Coordinator, held the 2024 NSTP Orientation at the EKB Gymnasium-Cubet extension, with more than 500 NSTP enrollees attending.

During the orientation proper, NSTP Coordinator Lamao, together with TSgt. Romel Lopez provided a comprehensive overview of the NSTP and its components, namely the Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC), Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS), and Literacy Training Service (LTS).

"Whether you choose the ROTC, the CWTS, or the LTS, remember that each path offers unique opportunities to make a difference...Your active participation will not only benefit you personally but will also contribute to the betterment of our community," says Lamao in his welcome remarks.

Partners from the Philippine Army, including Tsgt. Romel Lopez, TSgt. Myer Valera, Sgt. MC. John Paul Sandoval, Sgt. Christian Paul Daguio, Sgt. Jennifer Agabao, and some of the reservists were also present to support the event.

The Director for Students Affairs and Services (DSAS), Maj. Madelyne T. Maslang; Charlie Hidalgo, ROTC Coordinator; Rodelyn Narag, Instructor from the BS Criminology Department; ROTC Graduate Military Assistants (GMA's); and CWTS alumni were also in attendance.

The program was graced by Board Member Vincent Talattag, who shared his own experience of NSTP-ROTC during his college days.
