A Grade 8 student from the Special Program in Sports (SPS) made Aparri East National High School proud after clinching the gold medal in the 800-meter run during the recently held CAVRAA meet in Santiago City.
Jenalyn Macutay showcased outstanding speed, endurance, and determination as she outperformed fellow competitors in the middle-distance event.
Coached by Leonard Bolando and Jovenson Ursulum, Jenalyn has consistently demonstrated strong potential in track and field. Under her coaches' guidance, she was able to refine her technique and build the stamina needed to excel in the 800-meter raceโone of the most demanding events in athletics.
The CAVRAA (Cagayan Valley Regional Athletic Association) meet gathers top student-athletes from across the region, making Jenalynโs achievement even more commendable. Her gold medal victory serves as an inspiration to fellow learners, especially those in the Special Program in Sports.

Aparri East National High School lit up the athletics competition at the CAVRAA meet as young paralympic athletes delivered a remarkable medal haul.
Leading the charge was Raniel Halili, who dominated multiple events and secured three gold medals. Halili showcased his strength in shot put, then proved his versatility by topping both the long jump and the 100-meter dash, cementing his status as one of the meetโs standout performers.
Meanwhile, Nathaniel Genova also made his mark on the track, earning a silver medal in the 100-meter event after a strong and competitive run against the regionโs fastest sprinters.
Behind the athletesโ success is their dedicated coach, Gladys Grace Farolan, whose guidance and training played a key role in preparing the team for the high-level competition.
The achievements highlight not only individual excellence but also the growing strength of the athletics program of the school.

Congratulations to the 36 students who successfully passed their Food Processing National Certificate II assessment held from April 8 to April 11 at Lasam Institute of Technology, located in Nabannagan West, Lasam, Cagayan.
The group was composed of 30 students from the regular class and 6 learners from the Alternative Learning System (ALS), all of whom demonstrated dedication and perseverance throughout the process. This achievement marks an important milestone in their academic journey.
Prior to the assessment, the students showed strong commitment by participating in a series of review sessions. An initial preparation was conducted on March 30 before graduation activities, followed by an intensive review on April 6 and 7 held at their school. These efforts played a significant role in equipping the students with the knowledge and confidence needed for the assessment.
The four-day assessment was carried out smoothly, with the support and guidance of their teacher, Precious R. Bacuyag and the facilitators.

Founders Visit AENHS to Strengthen School Development and Preserve History
The Aparri East National High School (AENHS) recently welcomed two of its distinguished founders, Dr. Ismael V. Tumaru, former Mayor of Aparri, and Dr. Vicente Paguila, former ASATโTESDA administrator, in a meaningful visit aimed at revisiting the schoolโs history and supporting its future development.
The visit served as an opportunity for both founders to reconnect with the institution they helped establish and to assess its current condition, programs, and ongoing projects. School officials, faculty members, warmly received the guests, expressing gratitude for their continued interest and commitment to the growth of AENHS.
During their visit, Dr. Tumaru and Dr. Paguila reviewed historical records and engaged in discussions with school administrators about the origins of AENHS. They emphasized the importance of preserving the schoolโs legacy while adapting to the changing needs of education in the modern era.
In line with this, the founders also explored ways to contribute to the schoolโs development. They shared valuable insights and recommendations on improving educational programs, enhancing facilities, and strengthening community partnerships. Their experience in public service and education management provided guidance on how AENHS can implement sustainable projects that will benefit both students and teachers.
Dr. Paguila highlighted the significance of technical and vocational education, suggesting potential collaborations and training opportunities that could equip students with practical skills for future employment. Meanwhile, Dr. Tumaru underscored the role of leadership and community involvement in driving school progress.
The visit concluded with a renewed sense of purpose among school stakeholders. The presence of the founders inspired faculty to uphold the values and vision upon which AENHS was built.
As AENHS continues to grow, the support and guidance of its founders remain vital in shaping its direction. Their visit not only reinforced the schoolโs rich history but also paved the way for future initiatives that aim to enhance the quality of education and overall development of the institution.
