Who said reviewing for midterms has to be stressful? 📚✨

During our Student Activity Program (SAP) held last Wednesday, we put our knowledge to the test through an exciting 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐳 𝐁𝐞𝐞 and 𝐏𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐲 𝐇𝐞𝐧𝐲𝐨! From "basic lang 'yan" moments to "WAIT, ANO 'YUN?!" 🙋‍♀️🤷‍♂️, we got to refresh our lessons and reinforce the core knowledge we need to uphold.

Beyond reviewing, this SAP activity gave us the opportunity to socialize and build stronger bonds with fellow social work students across different year levels. It served as a much-needed escape from our busy schedules, deadlines, and schoolwork—a simple chance to be present, share a laugh, and get to know one another beyond the usual "hi" and "hello."

Because as Social Work students, before we connect with communities, it must start with us. 🤝❤️

The Social Work Students Association of the Philippines (SWSAP) – LVCC Chapter successfully celebrated 𝑵𝒖𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑴𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒉 2026, bringing together BSSW students through simultaneous activities at the 𝑯𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑴𝒊𝒏𝒐𝒓𝒔 and the 𝑳𝑽𝑪𝑪 𝑨𝒖𝒅𝒊𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒖𝒎 for a meaningful and engaging celebration of health and wellness.

The program featured interactive activities, educational discussions, and an informative booth that inspired students to embrace healthier lifestyles. A highlight of the event was an insightful talk by our resource speaker, 𝑴𝒔. 𝑹𝒉𝒆𝒂 𝑺𝒂𝒔𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒐𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒐, who emphasized the vital connection between nutrition, environmental restoration, and sustainable communities through the lens of eco-social work

Through this year's Nutrition Month celebration, we are reminded that caring for ourselves goes hand-in-hand with caring for the environment. Maintaining good health is not just about nourishing our bodies- it is also about protecting the natural environment that sustains us.🌍💚

𝐒𝐖𝐒𝐀𝐏 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 ✨

The Social Work Students Association of the Philippines (SWSAP) welcomed BSSW students through its General Assembly, introducing the organization’s initiatives, accomplishments, and commitment to student support.

The assembly also highlighted SWSAP’s projects and services within the BSSW Department, including the 𝑺𝒕𝒖𝒅𝒚 𝑮𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒑 initiative discussed by Ma’am Belle Bercasio, emphasizing collaborative learning and peer support. The 𝑭𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑺𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒄𝒆 was also introduced as an academic support initiative made possible through the support of our 𝑳𝑽𝑪𝑪 𝑺𝒐𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒌 𝑷𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒓𝒔.

The event concluded with meaningful connections among students, strengthening camaraderie and a shared commitment to the Social Work profession.

BSSW 𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐍𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐏 𝐃𝐄𝐏𝐋𝐎𝐘𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐌

The La Verdad Christian College Bachelor of Science in Social Work (BSSW) Program successfully conducted its 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 for our fourth-year students on 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐6, as part of their preparation for the upcoming Field Instruction.

The orientation provided essential information on internship requirements, academic expectations, professional ethics, deployment procedures, and the responsibilities expected of every student intern before their assignment to our partner agencies.

The discussion was facilitated by our Field Instructor, 𝐌𝐚'𝐚𝐦 𝐊𝐡𝐲𝐫𝐬𝐬 𝐍𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐨, who shared valuable insights and practical guidance to help our interns prepare for this important milestone in their social work journey.

One of the most meaningful reminders from the orientation was her inspiring message:

"𝑺𝒂 𝑺𝒐𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒌 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒇𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏, 𝒅𝒂𝒅𝒂𝒍𝒉𝒊𝒏 𝒌𝒂 𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒊 𝒔𝒂 𝒌𝒖𝒏𝒈 𝒔𝒂𝒂𝒏 𝒎𝒐 𝒈𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒐, 𝒌𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒊 𝒔𝒂 𝒌𝒖𝒏𝒈 𝒔𝒂𝒂𝒏 𝒌𝒂 𝒌𝒂𝒊𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒂𝒏."

These words beautifully capture the true essence of the social work profession—that our calling is not determined by personal preference, but by our commitment to serve individuals, families, groups, and communities where our knowledge, skills, and compassion are needed most.

To our dear 𝐊𝐮𝐲𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐭𝐞, congratulations on reaching another significant milestone! As you begin your internship journey, may you continue to uphold the values of integrity, competence, compassion, and genuine service to others.

𝐋𝐞𝐭'𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲. 💜

The 𝐋𝐕𝐂𝐂 𝐁𝐒 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, together with the Medical Team and fellow volunteers, had the opportunity to extend medical 🩺, dental 🦷, and optical 👓 services during the MCGI Grand Fiesta ng Dios, reaching individuals and families in the community.

What made this experience truly meaningful was the compassion demonstrated by every volunteer. Despite the long lines and the many people needing assistance, everyone was welcomed with patience, respect, and genuine care. 😊

This experience reminds us that service goes beyond our professions and backgrounds. It is rooted in our shared commitment to uphold the dignity of every person and to respond with kindness, empathy, and compassion.

May we continue to serve with consistency—consistent in kindness, consistent in compassion, and consistent in our commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others.

Have you ever wondered what social workers do in our communities?

They are the people who tirelessly 𝒂𝒅𝒗𝒐𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒔𝒐𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝒋𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒆, 𝒆𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓 𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒅𝒖𝒂𝒍𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒇𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒔, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒗𝒊𝒅𝒆 𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒄𝒆𝒔 to those in need. Through their hardwork and compassion, they become instruments of hope and positive change.

Today, as we celebrate 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗡𝗼. 𝟭𝟭𝟳𝟲, declaring 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟭𝟵 of every year as 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀' 𝗗𝗮𝘆, we honor and recognize the invaluable contributions of Filipino social workers around the world, especially our 𝙇𝙑𝘾𝘾 𝙎𝙤𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙠 𝙖𝙡𝙪𝙢𝙣𝙞 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙨

𝙎𝙖 𝙗𝙖𝙬𝙖𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙠𝙗𝙖𝙣𝙜, 𝙨𝙖 𝙗𝙖𝙬𝙖𝙩 𝙠𝙬𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙤 𝙣𝙜 𝙥𝙖𝙜𝙗𝙖𝙗𝙖𝙜𝙤, 𝙣𝙖𝙧𝙤𝙤𝙣 𝙠𝙖𝙮𝙤..

Kaya naman, bilang mga Social Work students at mga social workers in transit, sabay-sabay nating ipakita ang ating pasasalamat sa mga Registered Social Workers na ating hinahangaan, sa ating mga instructors, at sa mga alumni.

Iparamdam natin na ang kanilang tahimik ngunit makabuluhang paglilingkod ay hindi nakakalimutan.

As we prepare for the official start of our classes, we gathered via Zoom meeting for our 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 to recall, revisit and be reminded of our school policies and other important guidelines for the semester ahead.

We also watched 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐀𝐕𝐏 showing the highlights of the previous semester. Looking back at our journey throughout each year level filled us with smiles and pride reminded us of how far we have come.
