𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒|| The AVS SPJ Guild proudly congratulates three of its alumni, Lyle Patrick Villasis, Joshua Viceda, and John Pierce Lopez, on their new appointments at USA Publications.

Villasis, who served as News Editor of The AVS Courier from the AVS SPJ Class of 2022, has been designated Editor-in-Chief of USA Publications of the University of San Agustin.

He is set to replace the editor-in-chief post, left by two AVSian campus journalists set to graduate from the said university this year— Joewen Ray Ducado (Former Editor-in-Chief of The AVS Courier) and Mary Colleen Faith Salcedo (Former News Editor of The AVS Courier).

Meanwhile, Viceda and Lopez, both from the AVS SPJ Class of 2023, have been promoted to Associate Editor and Website Administrator, respectively.

USA Publications, the official student press corps of the University of San Agustin since 1928, presents its Editorial Board for the Academic Year 2026–2027.

In its continuing pursuit of truth and integrity, the 98-year-old organization affirms its role in responsive, developmental, and research-based information amid the challenges posed by misinformation and sensationalism.

The pen moves forward, and so does the legacy.

Malugod nating ipinapakilala ang mga bagong opisyal ng AVS SPJ Guild! Sila ang bagong henerasyon ng mga mamamahayag na may galing at pusong Antiqueño, handang maghatid ng bago, dekalidad, at tapat na impormasyon para sa mamamayang Pilipino.

Pagkatapos ng taong panuruan 2025-2026 na puno ng paglalakbay mula Division Schools Press Conference hanggang National Schools Press Conference, narito na ulit sila—mas handa at matatag para sa mas malawak na hamon ng pamamahayag. Muling sisibol ang matapang na tinig na handang magbigay ng boses sa bawat kuwento.

Sa tinta at tapang, kanilang itataguyod ang tapat na pamamahayag.
May pananagutan.
May puso.
May paninindigan.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒|| 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐛𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲!

Following the opening block activities conducted last week under the Department of Education’s new trimester system, the AVS Special Program in Journalism (SPJ) formally began the instructional block today, June 15.

With classes now in full swing, student-journalists across all four grade levels of the program engaged in academic and specialized journalism instruction.

Other extra-curricular activities shall be reserved for the first end-of-term block in September.
