Ngayong araw, ating ginugunita ang isa sa pinakamahalagang yugto sa kasaysayan ng bansa, ang ika-128 Anibersaryo ng Araw ng Kalayaan ng Pilipinas. Ang mahigit tatlong daang taon na pananakop ng Espanya ang naging dahilan upang maraming Pilipino ang magtiis sa pang-aapi at pagkakait ng mga pangunahing karapatan. Sa pagnanais na makamit ang kalayaan, isinilang ang Katipunan noong 1896 at nagsimula ang armadong pakikibaka laban sa kolonyal na pamamahala. Pagkalipas ng dalawang taon, noong Hunyo 12, 1898, idineklara ang kasarinlan ng Pilipinas sa Kawit, Cavite, isang makasaysayang hakbang tungo sa paghubog ng ating pambansang pagkakakilanlan.
Sa gitna ng mga suliraning kinahaharap ng bansa sa kasalukuyan; kahirapan, katiwalian, disimpormasyon, at iba pang hamong panlipunan, ang paggunita sa โAraw ng Kalayaanโ ay hindi lamang pag-alala sa kasaysayan. Ito rin ay pagkakataon upang magnilay kung paano natin magagamit ang kalayaang ipinaglaban ng ating mga bayani. Ang demokrasya ay hindi dapat aksayahin; bagkus, dapat natin itong gamitin bilang sandata upang maipahayag ang ating mga paninindigan, maipagtanggol ang katotohanan, mga naaapi, at maitaguyod ang kapakanan ng nakararami.
Sa kasalukuyan, marahil ay hindi pa ganap na malaya ang ating lipunan mula sa ibaโt ibang anyo ng pang-aapi at kawalang-katarungan. Ngunit sa bawat pagkakataong pinipili nating maging tapat, makatao, mapanuri, at makabayan, nagiging bahagi tayo ng patuloy na pagpapalaya sa ating sarili at sa bayan. Hindi pa man tayo ganap na malaya, piliin nawa ng bawat isa ang magpalaya mula sa kamangmangan, kasakiman, katiwalian, at anumang humahadlang sa tunay na pag-unlad ng sambayanan.

๐๐๐ฃ๐ฃ๐๐ก๐๐ก๐ ๐ก๐ข๐ช | As the 4th year students of College of Education awaits their graduation rites, the Student Teachers Organization conducts a Career Orientation with the theme โBeyond Practice: Embracing the Call to Educateโ today, May 6, at URSAC Gymnasium.
This two-part session aims to educate Student Teachers about the realities of being a fully-pledged Educator in the work field and the principles one should embody.
The morning session features guest speakers Ms. Lecil Ebina, the program head of STI College of Ortigas-Cainta, and Ms. Karla Bagtas, an Educator and a Content Creator. Followed by the Recollection in the afternoon, the event is hosted by Haylie Kirsthen Nasam.

The College of Education held its Annual Testimonial Rites with the theme, โCOExcellence in Teaching: Producing Quality and Competent Educators in Pursuit of Humility, Commitment, and Passionโ at the URSAC Gymnasium on April 16, recognizing the alumni of Bachelor of Secondary and Elementary Education for successfully passing the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT).
The program commenced with the opening remarks from Prof. Ma. Merle A. Facultad, OIC Campus Director, extending a cordial welcome and commended the alumni for passing the LEPT.
Subsequently, Prof. Eloisa M. Bayangos, Dean of the College of Education, offered words of inspiration to the alumni, honoring the determination and perseverance of the passers in pursuing the teaching profession.
Dr. Marvin Amoin, Vice President for Administration and Finance, also delivered remarks of encouragement, underscoring the responsibility and impact of educators in shaping future generations.
The program also featured a message of recognition from the University President, Dr. Nancy T. Pascual, congratulating the alumni for successfully passing the LEPT and acknowledging the Antipolo Campus for maintaining excellence in producing competent graduates. The University President also paid tribute to the late Antipolo Campus Director, Dr. Danilo M. Pascual, commemorating his invaluable contributions and enduring legacy in advancing the mission of the university.
Following this, Prof. Marck Ferdinand A. Aguilar, Program Head of BEED, formally introduced the guest speaker, Dr. Eusebio Q. Aldea. In his speech, Dr. Aldea reflected on his journey as a student and educator, highlighting the challenges he encountered, particularly financial constraints during his studies. He also recounted how he balanced work and academics as a working student, along with his memorable experiences with professors and humorous anecdotes from his student life.
The program continued with an intermission number from the Hiyas ng Rizal Dance Troupe, then the Pledge of Commitment led by Mr. Stephen Rex Delos Santos and Ms. Keziah O. Gallego, representing the batch of passers.
At last, certificates of recognition were awarded to the LEPT passers, followed by a ceremonial toast initiated by Dr. Nancy T. Pascual, celebrating the moment of excellence and united purpose of educators as cultivators of knowledge.
The program concluded with the closing remarks from Dr. Edward L. Andrecio, Director of University Center for Culture and Arts and COE faculty member.
Mr. Rafael Bernardo and Ms. Eliza Jane Almerol served as masters of the ceremony.

On April 16, 2026, University of Rizal System - Antipolo Campus commemorated a joyous Awarding Ceremony, recognizing different programs from across the four colleges, including the Bachelor of Elementary Education and the Bachelor of Secondary Education of the College of Education, for attaining Level III Program Accreditation from the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP).
The event was a huge milestone for the College of Education, marking its continued pursuit of upholding its testament to producing competent graduates and fostering academic excellence in both programs offered. A triumph for the collegeโs faculty members, stakeholders, and even to students and alumni.
