Good communication does not just inform. It builds trust. 🤝

Teacher Therese talked about something that does not always get enough attention: building good relationships with parents. Teaching is not just about lessons. It also means listening, communicating professionally, and remembering that parents and teachers are on the same team.

The session covered how to handle parent interactions well, listen before responding, focus on solutions, stay calm, and keep communication grounded in facts. Communication should bring people together, not create conflict.

Thank you to our amazing teachers for your openness, participation, and commitment to becoming not only better educators, but also better partners to the families we serve.

Preparing students for IB is not something that happens overnight. It starts now, at every level. 💪

Teacher Benj, our IBDP Coordinator, led a session to get everyone on the same page about what IB is, how it works, and where we currently stand as a school. The conversation was honest and practical, covering the gaps between what we do now and what the IB approach looks like.

Now that we've been doing this for a few years, we are getting better and better at it. Since we began our annual preparations, our students have had a 100% passing rate for their IB Diplomas, and we'd love to keep it that way.

The good news is that a lot of what our Grade School and Junior High teachers are already doing lines up with IB principles. The work now is to build on that and create the kind of learning culture that will help students step into the IBDP in Grades 11 and 12 ready and confident.

When classes move online, our teachers are ready. 💻

Teacher Ivy, our Grade School Coordinator, walked our teachers through everything they need to know to handle online classes with confidence. She covered how to set up Google Classroom properly, what good decorum looks like during online sessions, and the official guidelines teachers need to follow when posting.

She also shared a bunch of useful tips, tricks, and tools to make online teaching easier and more effective for everyone.

With the weather lately, this could not have come at a better time. Online or in person, we’re ready!

Welcome back to our returning Bannister families, and a warm welcome to those joining us for the very first time! 🏫

We kicked off the school year with our Parent Orientation, a chance for families and teachers to come together, get to know each other, and get ready for the year ahead.

After the general orientation, each class met with its adviser to go over routines, expectations, and important reminders for the months ahead.

Thank you for choosing to be part of the Bannister family. We are looking forward to a great year of learning and growth together!

What kind of person do we want every Bannister student to become? 🎓

We had the pleasure of hearing from Mr. Javier Laurel, Dean of the College of Fine Arts and Design at Lyceum of the Philippines University - Cavite, artist, poet, and doctoral researcher in Literature at De La Salle University - Manila. With a background spanning theater, film, photography, and creative writing, Mr. Javier brought a truly unique perspective to the room.

He led us through a conversation on liberal education and what it really means to prepare students for life, not just for university. The goal is not simply to fill students with knowledge, but to shape young people who create, question, and contribute meaningfully to the world around them.

Education is about so much more than what happens inside the classroom.

Every child deserves a classroom where they truly belong. 🌟

Teacher Jaybee is no stranger to Bannister, and we are always glad to have him back. This time, he talked about how to create classrooms where neurodiverse children feel accepted, valued, and supported.

The session touched on the importance of inclusion, how children experience and deal with stress, and simple ways teachers can adjust their classrooms to better support every child. Teachers also worked through real-life case studies, which made everything feel practical and easy to apply.

He reminded us constantly to look for the reason behind the behavior, not just focus only on the behavior itself.

See you again soon, Teacher Jaybee!

We officially ended our school year last month as we celebrated our 13th Commencement Exercise with our Grade School kiddos taking their first steps toward young adulthood, moving on to High School! They left behind their Grade School years with so much to be proud of, and we know they will carry that same curiosity and confidence into this next chapter.

Congratulations to our Grade School Batch 2026! The best is yet to come. 🎓
