Witnessing communication beyond words ๐คโจ
Benilde Antipolo students came together to learn the beauty and importance of Filipino Sign Language (FSL). This experience reminded us that communication extends beyond speechโit lives in movement, gesture, and understanding.
Through the guidance of our guest speakersโSDEAS alumni and Basic FSL facilitators Ejay Boy Tena and Anna Issabel Manuzon, Deaf Awareness facilitator Anabelle Salazar, and volunteer interpreters Dean Bea Francisco and Alliyah Llantosโwe gained a deeper appreciation for FSL and its role in promoting inclusivity and respect for the Deaf community.
Thanks to the collaboration of the Benilde Antipolo Student Government, Lasallian Mission and Student Life, and Benildean Volunteers, this event brought students together with a shared goal: to build a more inclusive and compassionate environment.
A meaningful experience we carry forward as we continue creating spaces where everyone feels seen, heard, and understood.
