Every February 9, the Lasallian community celebrates the Feast Day of Saint Brother Miguel Febres Cordero, a milestone in the Lasallian calendar that honors the first native Ecuadorian saint recognized by the Church. Canonized as a Saint by the late Pope St. John Paul II in 1984, St. Miguel is remembered as a humble Lasallian Brother, devoted educator, and โscholar-saintโ who dedicated his life to serving God through teaching and forming young minds.
Like St. Miguel, the mission of education continues today through people who generously offer their time, talent, and resources. In Saint Brother Miguel Academy (SBMA), our volunteers and sponsors embody the same spirit of service, of touching hearts, teaching minds, and transforming lives of the children we serve every Saturday. His life reminds us that even simple acts of kindness and commitment to education can create lasting change in the world.
Be part of the change weโre building together, inspired by St. Miguel Febres Cordero.

On January 30, 2026, Saint Brother Miguel Academy kicked off its seventh day of tutoring sessions for Grade 1 to 6 students of San Luis Elementary School.
Before the tutoring sessions officially began, the SBMA volunteers took an important step by electing an Environmental Officer. This new role is dedicated to ensuring the cleanliness and orderliness of our facilities before, during, and after our SBMA sessions.
As part of this weekโs learning experience, our dedicated students dove straight into their academics. Most of the pupils successfully completed their activities and assessments in Math, English, and Christian Living, showing great focus and enthusiasm for their lessons.
After that, the students headed to Donato Hall to refuel and bond before their dismissal. We want to express our deepest thanks to Alay Kapwa for providing tasty snacks for this Saturday. We also give a special thank you to the Vice Principal of SBMA La Salle Green Hills for the donation of Iron Vitamins, ensuring our students stay healthy and energized.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our generous sponsors and passionate volunteers whose continuous support makes every SBMA Saturday possible. Your kindness, donations, and dedication help create brighter classrooms, safer learning environments, and more meaningful educational experiences for our pupils.

On January 24, 2026, Saint Brother Miguel Academy started its sixth day of tutoring sessions for Grades 1 to 6 students of San Luis Elementary School.
As part of this weekโs learning experience, students from Grades 1 and 2 took part in the Grade 12 HUMSS research implementation which included reading activities. Meanwhile, the Grade 12 ABM students distributed consent and assent forms to Grade 3 to 5 students. Both student researchers explained their research and gave out small gifts to SBMA pupils to show their appreciation.
The day became more special because we held a birthday celebration for Ms. Paz Maniba and Ms. Lalaine Suarez. Their dedication and compassion serve as the foundation that proves the mission of SBMA. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to them, together with our generous sponsors and passionate volunteers, whose continued support makes every SBMA Saturday possible. Your kindness and time and generosity create brighter classrooms which lead to meaningful learning experiences and hopeful futures for our pupils.

โPag-asa ang nagbibigay-liwanag sa madilim na buhay.โ
Meet Robb Stephen Abara, SBMA volunteer and now the SBMA Principal for S.Y. 2025-2026. His journey with SBMA began with faith, courage, and a willingness to face challenges head-on. From teaching Christian Living and Math to leading the academy, he chose to stay because of the childrenโs smiles and dreams that made every sacrifice meaningful.
For him, SBMA is more than a place of learning. It is a home of hope, where every child is seen, remembered, and inspired to believe in a brighter future. Through love, patience, and service, he continues to stand as a foundation for the dreams of the children he serves.
Sa bawat sakripisyo, may katapat na pag-asa. Sa bawat pagod, may binubuong kinabukasan.

โWhen memory fails to recall, the heart continues to remember.โ
These words capture the journey of John Luis Soriano, whose path from being a Christian Living teacher to becoming the SBMA Director for S.Y. 2025-2026 is a testament to purpose, compassion, and unwavering dedication. Luis, who has been a volunteer for three years, has contributed more than just time, but a heart to serve. For him, education is more than academics, it is character, courage, and the dreams of every child who enters the classroom. His service shows a love poured out fully, even in exhaustion, believing that every moment spent in compassion is never wasted.
Just like Luis, the volunteers are the reason why SBMA is flourishing. The academy has survived for almost 20 years thanks to these kinds of people who decide to attend, dedicating their all, and brightening the path for students that aspire to a brighter future. Their commitment makes the mission alive and meaningful.

On November 29, 2025, Saint Brother Miguel Academy officially began its second day of tutoring sessions for Grades 1 to 6 students of San Luis Elementary School.
This marked a meaningful milestone for our volunteers, as they finally had the opportunity to teach their lessons based on the prepared lesson plans and apply the knowledge and techniques they learned during the ORSEM conducted by LSCA English, Math, and Christian Living teachers.
We are truly grateful to our sponsors and volunteers for the materials, food, and resources they shared today. Your generosity continues to make every Saturday a special time of learning and growth for the pupils.
