Angono’s SciTech Gem: Vallejos Clinches Top 8 Spot in 2026 RRSPC

ANTIPOLO CITY — Amidst the high-stakes atmosphere of the 2026 Reconfigured Regional Schools Press Conference (RRSPC), Trisha Noreen Vallejos of Angono National High School proved that scientific inquiry and journalistic flair are a winning formula, securing a prestigious Top 8 finish in the Science and Technology Writing category.

The competition, which drew the brightest campus journalists from across the region, was a grueling two-day intellectual marathon held at Dela Paz National High School.

The Road to the Podium ✍️📸
The journey began on February 24, where Vallejos, a Grade 11 student from ACAD 14, navigated the preliminary round to secure a spot in the Top 40. Returning the following day, February 25, for the final write-offs, she synthesized complex data into a compelling narrative that caught the judges' eyes, ultimately landing her among the elite Top 8 finalists.

A Foundation of Mentorship⭐️✍️
This achievement was made possible through the unwavering guidance of a dedicated support system at Angono National High School. Under the expert mentorship of School Paper Adviser Vivien Cathleen P. Diaz, Vallejos honed her technical writing skills to meet the rigorous standards of the regional level. This culture of excellence is further championed by the school’s leadership, led by Principal Dr. Reynante V. Flanders, and Public Schools District Supervisor Dr. April Dream A. Rabago, both of whom have remained steadfast in providing the resources and encouragement necessary for campus journalists to thrive on the big stage.

"To our CJs, your efforts and sacrifices were seen from the training to the 2026 RRSPC stage," shared Ms. Vivien Cathleen P. Diaz in a heartfelt message to her student-journalist.

"Always remember that we, SPAs, are proud of whatever you achieved. Take what you learned from the event and continue to hone your skills—this is just the beginning of unending opportunities in your journalism career," Diaz added.

As the 2026 RRSPC concludes, Vallejos stands as a testament to the "unending opportunities" that await the campus journalists of Angono National High School. Her victory is not just a personal milestone, but a beacon for future science communicators in the district.
