Crescent Moon (coast is clear) with Venus and Jupiter

The sky earlier tonight with the waxing crescent Moon and Venus close to each other. The bright object above them is Jupiter.

If you were not able to observe this tonight, you can still see the three celestial objects tomorrow. You will easily notice that the Moon will be at a different location relative to the other celestial bodies - it will be located above Jupiter tomorrow.

For frequent observers, you can observe that Venus and Jupiter are getting closer to each other in the night sky with each passing day for several weeks now. The two planets will be in conjunction and have a minimal angular separation on March 2, 2023.

Let's stop talking about socialization, and start talking about belonging.

You can be surrounded by people at school, but not feel like you belong.

You can work hard to 'fit in', but never experience belonging.

As a homeschooler too, you can go to lots of different events and regularly meet new people, but not feel a sense of belonging to a community.

Everyone is so concerned with 'socialization'. Are we seeing enough people? (Spoiler: yes). But, what's more important to me is community and belonging. These feel really crucial for our children's mental health, resilience, self-esteem, and general happiness.

You can fill your days with lots of activities with other kids, but your time would be better spent in building community. We all need to feel like we belong, that we're part of the team, that there are people we can depend on, that we have a shared history, that we're accepted, and missed, and there's a bunch of people excited to see us every week.

Put 'belonging' up the top of your list of priorities.
