The dean of the College of Criminal Justice Education and Forensics (CCJEF), Dr. Niño M. Kabiling was recognized for his outstanding contributions to the field of forensic science, particularly his dedication to the upliftment of forensic education in the Philippines, during the 15th IASR International Conference on Forensic Science held at the University of Delhi, India.

The Forensic Science Excellence Award was presented to Dean Kabiling during the conference's opening ceremony on August 23, 2024. This prestigious award acknowledges individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, innovation, and commitment to advancing the practice and understanding of forensic science. Dr. Singh, IASR President specifically cited Dean Kabiling's tireless efforts in enhancing the quality and accessibility of forensic education in the Philippines as a key factor in the awarding.

The award was presented by the esteemed Chief Guest Justice Arun Mishra, former Judge of the Supreme Court of India, and Dr. Henry C. Lee, a world-renowned forensic scientist. Their presence further underscored the significance of Dean Kabiling's accomplishments and the global recognition of his impact on the field.

Under his leadership, CCJEF has become a leading institution in the field, known for its rigorous academic programs and forensics initiative. The 11th Program Advisory Council (PAC) meeting of the College of Criminal Justice Education and Forensics (CCJEF), held on June 11, 2024, at PGN Function Hall, brought together diverse stakeholders to discuss and strategize advancing criminal justice education at CCJEF. The comprehensive agenda included reviewing the CCJEF Year-End Report, discussions on curriculum effectiveness and relevance, analysis of student outcomes, exploration of industry trends and research partnerships, and updates on the practicum program.

"We are delighted to have hosted this important gathering of CCJEF stakeholders," said Dr. Nino M. Kabiling, CCJEF Dean. "The PAC meeting provides a valuable opportunity for us to strengthen our partnerships and collectively work towards enhancing the quality of criminal justice education."

Representatives from industry partners, parents, students, administrators, faculty, staff, and alumni actively participated, sharing insights and perspectives. The meeting emphasized the importance of collaboration among stakeholders in ensuring that CCJEF programs remain relevant and effective in preparing students for successful careers in the criminal justice field.

The college's commitment to excellence was evident in the open dialogue and the shared dedication to staying at the forefront of industry trends. The 11th PAC meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from all stakeholders to work together to advance the CCJEF's criminal justice education.

In a two-day Continuing Professional Development (CPD) training program for registered criminologists organized by the College of Criminal Justice Education and Forensics (CCJEF) and the Institute of Academic Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IAIE) entitled "Mastering Digital Polygraph Techniques: Advanced Training for Accurate Deception and Detection," held on January 27 and 28, 2024, participants expressed their overwhelmingly positive impressions and satisfaction with the comprehensive content and practical insights provided.

The training, designed to enhance skills in digital polygraph techniques for precise deception detection, attracted professionals nationwide, including law enforcement officers, criminology educators, private investigators, and others.

Participants praised the program's hands-on approach, allowing them to engage with the latest tools and techniques to enhance the accuracy of polygraph examinations. The interactive sessions and practical exercises provided valuable real-world applications, ensuring participants left with practical skills they could immediately apply in their respective professions.

One participant, P/CPT FERDINAND D PEREZ JR, Deputy Chief of Police, Quezon MPS, Nueva Ecija, shared, "I am very satisfied with the CPD training on digital polygraph techniques conducted by HAU-CCJEF. This CPD training was thoroughly enjoyed by all participants, particularly the practical applications and laboratory exercises, which enhanced participants' skills to contribute effectively within their respective agencies and institutions. The training program is highly commendable, as well as the efforts of HAU-CCJEF."

Another participant, DR. RUBY L. TAMAYO, Dean of CCJE at Holy Trinity College-General Santos City, commented, "I am thrilled to award a rating of "10" to this CPD Training, marking it the highest rating I have ever given to any training program. Congratulations on delivering such an exceptional experience, and I eagerly look forward to more of this caliber in the future! Indeed, this CPD Training goes beyond mere unit compliance; it serves as a platform for discovering and embracing new knowledge in the field and venturing into advanced areas of study."

MS. SHEENA MAE DELOS SANTOS, CCJE Faculty at Mahardika Institute of Technology, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi, shared, "The most valuable aspect for me was the formulation of polygraph questions. I would recommend this training. The knowledge and skills gained are invaluable for anyone seeking to advance their expertise in deception detection through digital polygraph techniques."

Overall, the CPD training program left participants impressed and equipped with advanced skills to enhance the accuracy of deception detection in their professional endeavors. The positive feedback underscores the program's success in delivering quality, accessible, and up-to-date knowledge in the ever-evolving landscape of Criminology. The 69 participants who completed the CPD training program were awarded 10 CPD points.

CCJEF Unveils New Digital Forensics Laboratory, Empowering the Next Generation of Investigators

The College of Criminal Justice Education and Forensics (CCJEF) has unveiled a state-of-the-art Digital Forensics Laboratory that aims to equip aspiring student-investigators with the tools and knowledge of the digital age. The laboratory was designed and developed at par with international standards and promised to revolutionize digital investigations.

As cybercrime becomes increasingly sophisticated, the need for skilled digital investigators is more critical than ever. CCJEF is taking a proactive approach to nurture the next generation of cyber sleuths by providing students access to this cutting-edge laboratory.

It is equipped with a wide array of tools, and resources tailored to the needs of aspiring digital forensic investigators. Advanced software allows students to recover and examine data from various digital devices, reconstruct timelines of events, and analyze network traffic.

More importantly, the laboratory provides an immersive learning environment where students can unravel the mysteries hidden within digital evidence. It was designed to simulate real-world investigative scenarios. The Criminology and Forensic Science students will be able to work with mock cases, analyze digital evidence, and present their findings in a courtroom-style setting.

It aims to empower students with practical skills and hands-on experience in the ever-evolving field of Digital Forensics. HAU and CCJEF Dean receive CHR Kakampi Awards 2022

��Holy Angel University and the CCJEF Dean, Dr. Niño M. Kabiling, were recipients of the Kakampi Awards 2022 from the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) – Regional Office 3. The awarding was held during the culmination of the National Human Rights Consciousness Week 2022 at the PGN Auditorium last December 9, 2022.

The recognition exemplifies the unwavering support and contribution of the university and Dean Kabiling in upholding every individual's human rights and dignity.

In his recorded acceptance message, Mr. Leopoldo Jaime N. Valdes, OIC-University President, promised to continuously create a program for advancing human rights, especially that of the vulnerable youth.
