Did you know that having enough sleep promotes creativity?
Divergent thinking, thinking outside the box in new and imaginative ways, seems to be the first thing that goes when a person lacks sleep.
A study suggests that people deprived of sleep performed significantly worse on most types of divergent thinking, including fluency, flexibility, and originality. People without enough sleep had the tendency to perseverate on verbal memory tests and come up with the same answer, again and again, cross it out, and try again, which is a sign that the creative mind isn’t doing so well.
It is recommended that children in preschool and school-aged have 10 to 13 hours of sleep each day.

See you on Friday parents!

Every parent knows that sleep is important for a growing child. But did you know that sleep helps in solidifying a child’s memory?
According to research, a little extra time of 18 minutes per night can lead to better grades in elementary school kids.
During sleep, the brain strengthens certain neural connections to long-term memory. Because not all of them are worth saving, the brain prunes back unwanted memories and weaken the connections to them. So during sleep, the brain works its magic and streamlines the connections it needs to perform better during the day.
Giving your children enough sleep has a lot of benefits. We’ll share more about them in our next posts so stay tuned.

Not all parents are tech-savvy. Some may overlook the must-haves in online learning. So, here are the things to prepare so your children can have a more pleasant online learning experience.
- Our online learning platform does not require much computing power, but it is recommended to upgrade an older computer to avoid trouble. Make sure that all hardware is working properly too.
- Online learning is demanding on internet bandwidth. You will need a fast internet connection for high-quality video streaming, so better subscribe to an unlimited plan if you do not have one yet.
- Make sure your children use high-quality headphones so that they can hear teachers clearly.
AILA has a technical team that will help you make sure you have the right equipment for online learning.

With the start of school just around the corner, children are excited. However, for parents this signals challenging times ahead as they seek to equip their children with what it takes to perform well in online classes and excel academically at a time when grades matter more than ever before.
Here's a tip to help your children perform better during online classes.
Giving your children a nutritious breakfast is a perfect way to ensure that they have plenty of energy throughout the class. Whole grain cereals are a good source of dietary protein, iron, vitamin B complex, vitamin E, carbohydrates, niacin, riboflavin, thiamine, and fiber. These nutrients help kids increase focus. The protein and nutrients in eggs also help kids concentrate.
