In 1983, the Charismatic Ecumenical Ministries
International has envisioned a Christian School for the
year 1988. Burdened with the need for consistency in
teaching Biblical principles to children, the church
administration began studies in the possibility of
adopting the Accelerated Christian curriculum, a Bible-
based program prepared by Christian educators in the
United States, as its education
al tool. However, it was in
the early 1984 when a group of concerned parents bonded
themselves to urge the church administration to open up a
school in June. This was because the Christian school
where they were then enrolled faced government
restrictions that necessitated their withdrawal. It seemed
like impossibility but with much prayer, faith and
sacrifice, the church was able to rise P60,000 as an
immediate funding for the construction of facilities and
the purchase of educational materials. For its temporary
housing, the CEMI 2nd auditorium and its adjacent rooms
were utilized as the learning centers. A little here...
little there... miracles happened in small doses. It was in
school year 1985-86 when the CEMI Learning Center started
its operation with 14 staff members and with 114 students. One significant event in the history of the school took
place in the wee hours of the morning of August 1991,
after the Mt. Pinatubo eruption. Ramping flush flood
destroyed a large portion of the Sawali building which
housed the lower level students, rendering the place
useless. It was truly a time of great discouragement where
classes were disrupted. Parents lost their jobs and many
families were displaced by the calamity. But it was also
during this time, that God's grace was abundantly
manifested and felt. Through sacrificial giving, the CEMI
congregation, with the leadership of its head pastor,
determined to replace the building. After a few months, a
new school building was created, but this time a concrete
one for the students of the CEMI Learning Center. Today
the CEMI Learning Center houses its students in two school
buildings namely Annex 1 and 2. Through the years, God
showed His faithfulness in the Learning Center. Have
gained honor and recognition in different aspects both in
the DECS and in the ACE Philippines as well but God has
placed a new vision in the heart of our Senior
administrator, Rev. Candelaria, that after 15
years of using the ACE Program from the school year 1985-
2000, shifted ACE to Conventional style of teaching. There
were a lot of changes that took place, from the conversion
of classroom set-up, equipment, and the line up of
teachers. It was really a time once again of trusting the
Lord from finances up to the human resources that God
would sent all the right people to be part in this
teaching ministry.
