โThe university's commitment to excellence encouraged me to push myself beyond my limits, fostering a mindset of continuous learning and growth,โ said Keiza Grace Guzman-Sicat, highlighting the transformative impact of HAU on her journey.
Confronted with a two-hour daily commute, she chose to reside at the HAU dormitory during her college years. This decision allowed her to fully immerse herself in university life, participate in activities, form friendships, and study conveniently with access to university resources.
Driven by her deep-seated desire to serve others and contribute to their well-being, Keiza earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree in 2016.
โCompleting my degree in Psychology has equipped me with the tools to understand and assist others on their journey toward mental health and personal growth, fulfilling my aspiration to serve and support individuals in achieving their highest potential,โ she shared.
She obtained her license after successfully passing the Psychometricians Licensure Examination in August 2016. Furthermore, demonstrating diligence and commitment, she pursued her teaching units and achieved recognition as one of the Top 15 nationwide in the October 2022 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT).
โThe university truly lives up to its tagline by preparing its students not just academically but for the challenges and opportunities that await them in their professional lives,โ she mentioned.
Her career journey has brought her worthwhile experiences and lessons. Presently, she works as Teacher II and Guidance Designate at SDO Tarlac Province, under the Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) Strand in Senior High School.
She also served as a Counselor at Operational Brotherhood Montessori Inc. and Centro Colegio De Tarlac and held roles as a Faculty and Life Coach at Singapore School Clark and Bamban Christian Academy. Moreover, she held positions as a Character Development Officer and Guidance Associate at Mabalacat City College.
She highlighted that contributing to the lives of young individuals by equipping them with knowledge, skills, and guidance is deeply rewarding and motivates her to strive for excellence in education and student support.
Keiza advises students to anchor themselves in faith, work diligently through challenges, and recognize the transformative power of education. โBy entrusting everything to God, persevering through difficulties, and embracing the opportunities that education affords, students can build a solid foundation for a successful and meaningful future,โ she concluded.
