Ngayong araw, ipinagdiriwang natin ang ika-128 taon ng ating kasarinlan. Ito ay hindi lamang simpleng pagdiriwang, kundi isang taimtim na pag-alala sa matapang na pakikibaka at walang kapantay na sakripisyo ng ating mga bayani—mga taong nag-alay ng kanilang lakas, pawis, at maging ng kanilang buhay upang makamit ang kalayaang tinatamasa natin sa kasalukuyan.

Ang kalayaang ito ay may dalang malaking pananagutan. Hindi sapat na ipagdiwang lamang ito; kailangan din nating ingatan, pahalagahan, at gamitin sa tama para sa ikabubuti ng ating sarili, ng ating pamilya, at ng buong bansa. Nawa’y magsilbing inspirasyon ito sa atin upang magkaisa, magtulungan, at itaguyod ang kapayapaan at pag-unlad ng Pilipinas.
