In our modern society, it's all too easy to get caught up in the cycle of impulsive buying, taking out loans, and spending beyond our means. Hence, by adding God to our hearts, we can find true happiness and contentment that doesn't rely on material possessions. By prioritizing our spiritual growth, we can break free from the cycle of consumerism and focus on what really matters in life.

We, the SRAP 6 of A-116 from Holy Angel University, aim to raise awareness about the dangers of these habits and promote responsible shopping as well as spending time with God instead of focusing on material things on earth. Together, we make a difference—STOP the Cart, and Add GOD to our Hearts.

For our next stop, let's have a recap of what we have discussed through this week. From our mission and vision, the negative effects of both online shopping and loan application, and the ways to prevent addiction. We hope that you learned from what our advocacy is and of course, try to apply it in real life.

According to the latest statistics, the ease and convenience of online shopping dominate consumers’ list of top reasons to shop online. The idea of browsing through your phones with full details on what you want to buy and having it at your doorstep in no time. Another reason why people resort to online shopping as a way to waste time is emotional instability. This activity helps them cope with stressors in their environment.

However, as much as it was helpful for us, too much of a thing will always be bad for anyone. Because of this, we need to learn how to prevent online shopping addiction before it gets worse. We have here below a few tips for you as we continue with our advocacy to STOP THE CART AND ADD GOD TO HEART.

Impulsive buying can be a tempting trap for many of us. The rush of excitement we feel when we buy something new can provide an instant boost of happiness. However, this temporary happiness often leads to long-term regret and financial stress.

The passage above reminds us that our focus should not be on accumulating material possessions, but on building up our relationship with God. So, as we navigate the temptations of impulsive buying, let us remember to prioritize our spiritual well-being and trust in God rather than material possessions. Let us also strive to manage our finances wisely and avoid the trap of debt. By doing so, we can experience true freedom and peace of mind.

People engage in online shopping for a variety of reasons, such as convenience, availability, competitive pricing, a wider selection, and the ability to compare products and prices quickly. The ability to shop from anywhere and at any time is a significant factor that attracts people to online shopping. Additionally, online retailers often offer discounts, promotions, and free shipping, which makes online shopping even more appealing.

However, the ease and convenience of online shopping can lead to impulsive buying. Online shopping provides a sense of anonymity and privacy, as well as the ability to quickly and easily purchase products with just a few clicks, which can encourage impulsive buying behavior.

As a youth, we intend to foster awareness of the world of online shopping and impulsive buying, which sometimes leads to the application of loans that are beyond our budget and necessities.

Our advocacy aims to help people be deeply connected with God by focusing their attention on what their spiritual selves need instead of fulfilling the mental and physical needs of the materials we see here on Earth. We visualize a future in which people will be more interested in the value of our spiritual lives and refrain from the temptation of impulsive buying and loan applications.

Online Shopping via Loan Application has been prevalent since the COVID-19 Pandemic, and we need to know the root cause. 🔍

“But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.” (𝟏 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐲 𝟔:𝟗-𝟏𝟎)

Those who desire to get rich are setting themselves up for a trap; they fall into temptation and a snare. We are not saying that all rich people are going to fall into temptation, but rather those who struggle with the desire for riches. It all comes down to a matter of the heart.❤️
