🚨 SCIENCE WEATHER BULLETIN | SPECIAL SYSTEM ALERT πŸ›°οΈπŸŒ§οΈ

After days of monitoring weather disturbances, heavy rains, flooding, and class suspensions, our instruments have detected yet another significant event.

Scanning...πŸ”

🌧️ Typhoon / Heavy Rains β€” DETECTED
🌊 Flooding β€” DETECTED
🏫 Class Suspension β€” DETECTED
πŸŽ‚ Principal's Birthday β€” DETECTED

Apparently, classes can be suspended...

but birthdays cannot. 😌

Jokes aside, even while classrooms remain quiet and we continue hoping for safer and better weather, today gives our school community something happy to celebrate.

To the leader who continues to guide our school through sunny days, rainy days, and even those "May pasok po ba bukas?" days πŸ˜…β€”the General Science Club wishes you a very happy and meaningful birthday, Sir Richard Cristobal Bagtas ! 🧑

May this new chapter bring you good health, happiness, greater success, and, according to our highly sophisticated scientific instruments...

β˜€οΈ MUCH. BETTER. WEATHER. πŸ˜πŸ˜‚

Happy Birthday, Sir/Master/Hokage! πŸŽ‚πŸ§‘

Rain or shine. Online or offline. Suspended or not. Today, we celebrate you.

P.S. Our Science Club has yet to determine whether a Hokage is entitled to birthday leave. Further research is required. πŸ”¬πŸ€”

Every discovery has a story.
Chemists knew about dozens of individual elements, but the relationship between them was chaotic and disorganized. Dmitri Mendeleev wrote each known element on a card and arranged them by atomic weight, noticing a repeating pattern in their chemical properties.

His table was so accurate that he left intentional blank spots for undiscovered elements, correctly predicting their exact physical properties before anyone had ever seen them. Yet his organized grid became the ultimate reference map for all of chemistry.

🌟 Great discoveries sometimes begin with seeing the patterns behind the clutter.

πŸ’¬ Question:
What is your favorite element on the Periodic Table, and why? Tell us in the comments! πŸ‘‡

Science Note: Mendeleev’s original table was organized by atomic weight rather than atomic number (number of protons), which was refined later by Henry Moseley.

Today's fact may increase your curiosity.
Did you know...

🐸 The Alaskan Wood Frog can literally freeze solid in winter and survive! Here's something even stranger... Up to 60% of the frog's body water freezes into ice. Its heart completely stops beating, and it stops breathing for months! But when spring arrives, the frog simply thaws out, its heart restarts on its own, and it hops away as if nothing ever happened. Nature is amazing!

πŸ’¬ Question:
If you could hibernate through any season of the year, which season would you skip? Tell us in the comments! πŸ‘‡

πŸ€– TECHIE TUESDAY

Scientists are developing smart fabrics that turn body heat & movement into electricity. Someday, your jacket/bag could charge your phone/watch while you walk!

- πŸ“± Charge phones wirelessly
- πŸƒ Power fitness trackers while exercising
- ⛑️ Keep emergency workers connected in remote areas

🌾 AUGUST β€” National Indigenous Peoples Day

🌿 Science has always been part of our heritage.

Let's celebrate the wisdom, traditions, and environmental practices of our Indigenous Peoples and discover how science and culture work hand in hand.

πŸ’¬ What indigenous practice or tradition have you learned from your community?

πŸ¦‰ Professor Owl spotted a huge rumor stomping through!

Have you ever heard someone say: "An elephant is terrified of a tiny little mouse!" 🐘🐭

❌ THE MYTH: Elephants are afraid of mice crawling up their trunks.

βœ… FACT: Elephants couldn't care less about mice! What actually startles them is sudden, fast movement near their feetβ€”because their eyesight isn't very sharp up close. A fast-moving dog, cat, or bird can cause the exact same reaction! πŸ•πŸ’¨

🧠 Science Lesson:
Elephants rely heavily on their sense of smell and hearing rather than up-close vision, making unexpected movements nearby a quick trigger for their defense instincts!

πŸ’¬ Question:
What is one thing that unexpectedly startles or jumpscares you every single time? Tell us in the comments! πŸ‘‡

Today's laboratory experiment...Testing the effects of science jokes.

Every discovery has a story.
Most people believed Earth was the center of the universe. But Galileo used a telescope to observe the sky and found evidence supporting the idea that Earth moves around the Sun.

His observations challenged long-held beliefs, and he was eventually tried by the Roman Inquisition and spent the rest of his life under house arrest.
Yet his work helped change how we understand our place in the universe.

🌟 Great discoveries sometimes begin with the courage to ask, "What if we've been wrong?"

πŸ’¬ Question:
If you could look through Galileo's telescope, what would you want to see first? Tell us in the comments! πŸ‘‡

Science Note: Galileo did not originate the Sun-centered model, but his observations provided important evidence supporting it.

⚠️ WARNING!
Today's fact may increase your curiosity.
Did you know...

πŸ™ Octopuses have three hearts. Here's something even stranger...Two hearts pump blood to the gills.
One pumps blood to the rest of the body. But wait.. When an octopus swims... The heart that pumps blood around the body actually stops beating temporarily! That's one reason octopuses often prefer crawling rather than swimming long distances. Nature is amazing!

πŸ’¬ Question:
If you could borrow one animal ability for a day, what would it be? Tell us in the comments! πŸ‘‡
