โ€ŽOn May 7, 2026, the College of Engineering and Architecture of Aklan State University marked its 2nd founding anniversary with faculties, students and guests commemorating the milestone via day-long gathering in CEA ground.

โ€ŽThe festivity with the theme "Beyond Foundation: Sustaining excellence in Engineering and Architecture" officially begun with a warm welcome from Engr. May B. Chan, BSCE Program Chair and Ar. Allan Christopher Lim, BSA- Vice chair, followed by an empowering message of support from Dr. Angeline Regalado, Campus Director.

Thereafter, Engr. Neil Samuel Samson, college dean, introduced Dr. Eduardo D. Sumanga, one of the speakers of the said event whom patiently narrated the former years before the establishment of the aforementioned college.

โ€Žโ€From humble beginnings to the establishment of the college of Engineering and Architecture, this institution has proven that determination can transform aspirations into reality. I encourage every student, every faculty member every stakeholders to remain united, committed and forward looking" Dr. Sumanga added.

โ€ŽFollowing the concise presentation of Dr. Aphrille L. De Angel on curriculum development draft, the students were then marveled by the stories of recent board passers alumni, leaving of hopes and advise to future licensure exam takers.

โ€ŽDuring the afternoon, the "Pagkilaea" segway was done to recognize students' accomplishments that brought pride and honor to the university.

โ€ŽAfterwards, enthusiasm were diffused around the CEA the premises as they set aside their calculators and pencils for a while and joined in the team building activities where collaboration communication and coordination were molded.

The occasion was organized by the Association of Civil Engineering Students together with United Architects of the Philippines Student Auxillary in order to cultivate strong school community.

The group projects for CE 325 (Hydraulics) underwent a formal evaluation as 3rd-year BSCE students submitted their technical designs for professional review. The assignment challenged students to design and construct a working hydroponic system, requiring the direct application of hydraulic principles to ensure proper fluid flow and nutrient distribution.

Engr. Mark Arvin Jimenez and Engr. Nicole Andrea Escote served as guest panelists for the session, joining instructor Engr. John Enriq Armenio to review the technical merits of the students' work. The panel meticulously evaluated the project models, noting the promising potential and high level of engineering skill displayed in the students' ability to translate classroom theory into a functional, real-world application.

The session also served as a moment of reflection for the visiting engineers. While assessing the systems, the panelists reminisced about their own college days and discussed how their past experiences with the CE 325 curriculum helped shape their professional careers
