𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗕𝗡𝗛𝗦 𝗦𝗚𝗖 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗱𝘀 𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴

Ideas met with action as the Bayabat National High School (BNHS) School Governance Council (SGC) successfully conducted its 2nd Meeting, bringing together school leaders and stakeholders in a collective effort to strengthen school programs, address emerging concerns, and advance the welfare of every learner.

Leading the gathering was School Principal Dr. Florinda D. Battad, who underscored the importance of unity, communication, and shared responsibility in achieving the school's goals. Her leadership provided direction to the discussions as members actively participated in identifying concerns and exploring possible solutions for the continuous improvement of the school.

Joining Dr. Battad in steering the council was SGC Co-Chairman Mr. Johny Castro, who contributed valuable insights and perspectives as an external stakeholder. His participation reflected the important role of community partners in supporting the school's programs and initiatives.

Also taking an active part in the meeting was SPTA President Mrs. Bianca Camille Bautista, representing the voice and support of parents in school governance. Her involvement further strengthened the partnership between the school and the parent community.

The meeting became a meaningful platform for the SGC members to exchange ideas, raise concerns, provide recommendations, and discuss possible actions concerning school programs, learner welfare, stakeholder participation, and other matters affecting the school community.

More than a visit, it was an opportunity to learn, reflect, and grow as 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐫. 𝐆𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐚 𝐁. 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐝 stepped into Bayabat National High School to extend technical assistance to the school’s teaching force.

With her expertise and commitment to supporting teachers, Dr. Trinidad engaged with the faculty in a meaningful professional discussion aimed at addressing instructional concerns, strengthening teaching practices, and enhancing the delivery of quality education.

The meeting focused on important matters concerning the implementation of the NCAE, including the assessment procedures, preparations, responsibilities of designated personnel, and other necessary arrangements to ensure the smooth and orderly conduct of the examination.

The NCAE serves as an important tool in helping learners understand their abilities, interests, skills, and career preferences. Its results shall provide valuable information that may guide students as they make decisions regarding their future educational and career pathways.

The online meeting concluded with a strengthened commitment among the school personnel to work collaboratively toward the successful implementation of the NCAE for SY 2026–2027.

Bayabat National High School successfully conducted the Day 2 of the In-Service Training for Teachers (INSET), bringing teachers together for another meaningful day of learning, sharing, and professional growth..

The training provided teachers with valuable opportunities to enhance their knowledge, skills, and teaching practices. Through engaging discussions, collaborative activities, and sharing of experiences, participants gained new insights that can be applied in their classrooms.

In a decisive move to strengthen disaster preparedness, Bayabat National High School (BNHS) conducted an 𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒉𝒒𝒖𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒅𝒓𝒊𝒍𝒍 on September 9, 2026, equipping learners and personnel with essential safety measures and emergency response procedures.

The activity was led by Head Teacher III 𝑴𝒓. 𝑹𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑬. 𝑺𝒖𝒄𝒊𝒂, who led the school community in carrying out the established earthquake safety protocols.

Students, teachers, and school personnel actively participated in the drill, demonstrating the proper “𝑫𝒖𝒄𝒌, 𝑪𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑯𝒐𝒍𝒅” technique immediately after the simulated earthquake alert. Learners calmly followed their teachers as they evacuated classrooms and proceeded to the designated assembly areas.

The drill also emphasized the importance of maintaining composure, following instructions, and observing proper evacuation procedures during an actual earthquake. Teachers took responsibility for guiding learners while ensuring that classrooms and school premises were properly cleared.

Mr. Sucia stressed the significance of regular drills in preparing the school community for possible emergencies, noting that preparedness and discipline can help prevent injuries and save lives when disasters strike.

The activity further strengthened the coordination and teamwork among BNHS personnel and learners, highlighting the school’s commitment to creating a safe and disaster-resilient learning environment.

Through the successful conduct of the earthquake drill, Bayabat NHS once again demonstrated that preparedness is not merely a routine—it is a shared responsibility and a crucial step toward saving lives.

Leading the school’s impressive showing was 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐡 𝐀𝐬𝐡𝐥𝐞𝐲 𝐃𝐞 𝐋𝐞𝐨𝐧, who clinched the 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐄𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 (𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡). Her outstanding performance earned her a coveted slot in the upcoming DSPC, with 𝐌𝐫𝐬. 𝐑𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐨𝐬 serving as her coach.

Meanwhile, the journalism battle is not yet over for BNHS, as the competition will continue tomorrow with the group contest in Collaborative Desktop Publishing. The participating student journalists and coaches are set to put their teamwork, creativity, writing, editing, layout, and digital publishing skills to the test as they work together to produce a compelling and publication-ready output.

The upcoming group contest will provide another opportunity for the BNHS journalism team to showcase not only individual talent but also teamwork, coordination, accuracy, creativity, and journalistic excellence.

The Congressional Journalism Press Conference 2026 not only celebrated journalistic excellence but also highlighted the importance of empowering young writers and communicators to become discerning, ethical, and responsible storytellers.

With four students advancing as DSPC qualifiers and another challenge awaiting the team tomorrow, Bayabat National High School continues to raise the banner of campus journalism—one story, sketch, digital report, and collaborative publication at a time.
