school was passed and was approved by the Provincial Board of Misamis Occidental through Governor Porferio Villarin. It was then named Aloran Junior High School. Its first makeshift school building of nipa and bamboo was built on a one-hectare lot donated by the Tejano-Cuajotor Clan. It was opened with an enrolment of 60 first year students taking up an academic secondary course. Nestor Bolotaolo. In the succeeding years, the second, third, and fourth year classes were opened. Due to lack of classrooms, some of the classes were held in private residences at the población. However, with the construction of a two-story building of wood and galvanized iron roof in 1956, classes held outside were brought back to the campus. With the offering of a complete academic secondary curriculum, the school was then named Aloran High School with the funding provided by the provincial government. In 1954, Mr. Felix Nillas succeeded Mr. Bolotaolo. During his time, an additional school site was acquired and an Industrial Arts building was constructed. In 1960, Mrs. Conception Blanco succeeded Mr. Nillas. A Philippine Military Training (PMT) office was added to the school plant. When Mr. Diogracias Cajigas came in 1965, he strengthened classroom instruction and built an F-type building. He composed the Aloran High School Loyalty Song which is now known as the ATHS Alma Mater Song. Elyshea R. Villa continued the work of her predecessors in 1969. During her time, the following buildings were constructed: 2-room main building and 3-room Marcos-type Building (1975). Through Mrs. Villa’s initiative and her strong representation, the school was nationalized in 1975. With its nationalization, its name was changed to Aloran National High School. In 1976, Mr. Bienvenido S. Ozaraga succeeded Mrs. Villa, and was responsible for the construction of two Bagong Lipunan type buildings and the Administration Building. Six years later in 1983, the school was converted into a trade high school by virtue of Batas Pambansa Blg. 465 sponsored by Assemblyman Henry Y. Regalado. With Mr. Ozaraga’s retirement in 1990, Mrs. Rosa P. Mercado was designated Officer in Charge by Dir. Francisco B. Concillo, Director IV, DECS Region X. During her assumption to duty, the construction of the 12-room Academic Building which was started by Mr. Ozaraga, was completed. An additional school site was acquired for the construction of a Practical arts Building (Phase 1). With the issuance of DECS Regional Memorandum No. 88, s. 1990, the high school trade curriculum was initially implemented along with the New Secondary Education Curriculum (NSEC). On July 21,1992, Mrs. Paulita A. Roa was installed as the school principal by Dr. Socorro L. Serino, Division Superintendent. It was in her administration that the school became a Division Leader School producing trainers in English, Filipino, Social Studies, Science, and Mathematics. With the help of the Parents-Teachers Association (PTA), the rice field fronting the campus was filled with soil converting it into a wide playground, a show—window of a clean and green surrounding. During Mrs. Roa’s administration, the concrete paneling of the school was realized and an additional four-classroom Ricardo T. Gloria Building was built. It was also during her time that the overall NSAT percentile was about 95%. Prior to the retirement of Mrs.Roa on April 28, 2003, the PTA purchased the adjacent house and lot owned by Mr. Isabelo Maghuyop increasing the size of the school site and adding one more structure now used as a classroom. Wilhelmina T. Romero, Head Teacher III, the assumed as the Officer in Charge while waiting for the position to be filled up. Mr. Nicolas M. Martinez was then detailed as principal. After serving the school for five months he was transferred to another school in the division. The short shift of one administration to another did not affect the performance of the school as it continued to serve the community with excellence. With the transfer of Mr. Martinez, Mr. Diosdado C. dela Cruz,Sr. took over the huge responsibility of managing and leading the fast growing community of Aloran Trade High School on November 19, 2003. With the assumption of office of Mr. dela Cruz, he introduced new policies and innovation in his governance. His firm but affectionate hand in handling administrative matters continued the legacy of ATHS for excellence. At present, the school continue to grow in facilities and teaching force to meet the growing demand of the community. Its growth is closely aided by the stakeholders who strongly support the programs and projects of the school. This strong linkage resulted to the construction of a deep well, a stage, a mini oval among others. There is now also a marked improvement in terms of personnel welfare and benefits. Some were recommended and promoted as division supervisor, principals, masters teachers, head teachers; and many were upgraded from the position of Teacher I to either Teacher II or Teacher III. This encouraged other teachers to pursue further studies due to these opportunities. Teachers and staff are sent to different seminars and trainings may it be local, regional or national level in order to upgrade themselves and enhance their knowledge and skills.
