Stakeholders' Convergence Enhances Collaboration for Student Welfare

Almagro, Samar – The Almagro District of the Department of Education hosted a significant Stakeholder Convergence, locally known as "Pagsinabtanay," on the morning of October 11, 2024, from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM initiated by District In-Charge Dr. Jay G. Abia, brought together educators, municipal officials, and community stakeholders to foster collaboration aimed at enhancing the welfare of students.

The forum saw active participation from teachers across the Almagro District, along with key municipal leaders, including Municipal Mayor Honorable Amelia P. Cano, several municipal councilors, and Punong Barangay and barangay officials. The event also featured the School Parents and Teachers Association (SPTA) Officers, led by SPTA President Ms. Aida D. Samonte, emphasizing the vital role of parents in the educational process.

In attendance were notable personnel from the Division of Samar, including Dr. Glendo Carrido, Chief of Curriculum Implementation Division (CID), Dr. Claire Menda, Chief of the School Governance and Operations Division (SGOD), and other division staff members. Their presence underscored the event's importance in aligning district efforts with broader educational goals.

The "Pagsinabtanay" forum served as a platform for open dialogue among stakeholders, allowing participants to discuss challenges and explore mutual agreements in support of the school’s mission and vision. The collaborative atmosphere fostered a sense of unity and shared purpose, with all parties committed to working hand-in-hand for the benefit of students.

Dr. Abia highlighted the importance of such gatherings in strengthening the partnership between the school and the community. “When we come together, we create a stronger support system for our students, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed to succeed,” he stated.

As the event concluded, participants left with renewed motivation to collaborate and support the educational mission of the Almagro District. The success of the Stakeholder Convergence demonstrates the commitment of all parties involved to work together for the betterment of the educational landscape in Almagro, ensuring that every student can thrive.

Almagro, Samar – The Department of Education (DepEd) held its much-anticipated 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐄𝐝 𝐍𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 2024 on the evening of October 11, 2024, at the Almagro gymnasium spearheaded by Dr. Jay G. Abia, the District In-Charge of the Almagro District, brought together educators, municipal officials, and community members for a night of celebration, recognition, and cultural appreciation.

The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Municipal Mayor Honorable Amelia P. Cano, along with notable municipal councilors, including Hon. Claudio Lapure, Hon. Marklee Matados, Hon. Nelybeth Matados, Hon. Ranel Geras, and Hon. Tito Villa. The occasion also saw the participation of the ABC President, Acilo Rosialda, and several Punong Barangay, such as Hon. Rowe Carlo Estado, Hon. Carlos dela Cruz, Hon. Elbar Alburo, and Remigio Araza, among other distinguished guests.

The evening kicked off with a vibrant showcase of cultural dances performed by both teaching and non-teaching personnel, highlighting the rich traditions of the region. The audience was captivated by the performances, which not only entertained but also fostered a sense of unity and pride within the community.

A key highlight of the night was the awarding ceremony known as 𝐃𝐀𝐘𝐄𝐆𝐎𝐍, where outstanding teachers and personnel were recognized for their exemplary contributions to education in the district. Various categories were awarded, celebrating the dedication and hard work of those who have made a significant impact on the students and the community.

As the night progressed, the atmosphere was filled with laughter and joy, with attendees dancing and mingling, reinforcing the bonds among educators and municipal officials. The success of DepEd Night 2024 was a testament to the collaborative spirit of the Almagro community, showcasing their commitment to education and cultural heritage.
