AVHS clinches championship in Jingle‑Making Contest, highlights commitment to library advocacy
At the close of the 35th Library and Information Services (LIS) Month celebration, Allacapan Vocational High School secured first place in the jingle‑making contest, showcasing not just creativity but a deep commitment to library advocacy.
School Principal Lo**ta Cabalza‑Unida expressed her pride in AVHS’ win, calling it a symbol of her school’s dedication.
“This victory is more than a trophy — it’s a statement that our students believe deeply in the power of knowledge and community. We have always supported our library program, and this recognition validates that effort.”
Roan Clarissa T. Taquiqui, Head Teacher VI of Related Subject Department noted, “Our students understood the assignment not just as a contest but as a way to promote inclusion and lifelong learning. Their work reflects our academic mission.”
Meanwhile, Danilo Viloria, Head Teacher VI of Vocational Subjects Department added, “The jingle reminds us that libraries are not just for reading — they are for building character, empathy, and civic engagement.”
The event drew support from local education authorities, including Public Schools District Supervisor Sir Liberato Umangay Jr., who commended AVHS for its achievement.
The contest was organized by the Cagayan Provincial Learning and Resource Center (CPLRC) in partnership with the Cagayan Library Consortium (CLC). It is part of a month-long celebration aimed at highlighting the importance of libraries not only as repositories of knowledge but as centers of cultural exploration.
AVHS’s win is expected to inspire other schools in the region to invest more in their own library programs.
As the 35th LIS Month draws to a close, AVHS’ success demonstrates how student creativity, institutional support, and community collaboration can harmonize to bring library advocacy center stage.
