This morning’s flag ceremony was more than just a routine gathering...it was the official and heartfelt welcome of Ma’am Marie-Anne P. Barrera, PhD, as the new principal of Alicia National High School.

With the students and faculty of both ANHS and SHS–Mabini Extension present, the atmosphere was filled with warmth, respect, and genuine excitement.

Ma’am Marie-Anne was met with bright smiles and a round of applause from learners and teachers alike, a simple yet meaningful show of support for the new chapter ahead.

As she assumes this new role, we look forward to the guidance, wisdom, and positive impact she will bring. ANHS is ready to move forward with her, and we’re proud to have her lead us into the future.

A fresh chapter begins at Alicia National High School as we warmly welcome our new principal, Ma’am Marie-Anne P. Barrera, PhD. Her arrival on June 20 brought not only a change in leadership but a renewed sense of excitement and hope for the entire school community.

She was met with open arms and bright smiles by the teachers and staff, joined by the presence of former Principal Dr. Lordino G. Antonio and Assistant Principal Mr. Junar P. Santiago.

Transitions can often feel bittersweet, but this one was filled with warmth, gratitude, and great anticipation. As Dr. Antonio passed on the torch, there was a shared feeling of trust and belief that Ma’am Marie-Anne will guide the school toward even greater heights. Her calm presence and clear dedication already speak volumes.

Every school year offers a set of choices — to lead, to follow, to grow, to stay still. 𝐃𝐫. 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐆. 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐨 chose to lead, and in doing so, helped Alicia National High School learn what it means to rise with purpose.

His time here may have been short, but the choices he made to uplift, to guide, to serve with integrity defined a season we won’t forget. With quiet strength and clear vision, he helped turn goals into achievements and a school into a stronger, more united community.

He led not with noise, but with clarity, compassion, and resolve...a kind of leadership that doesn’t demand attention, yet earns deep respect.

He left behind no ordinary legacy. From the lessons echoed in our classrooms to the values instilled in our hearts, his time ushered in a golden stretch, a season of growth, excellence, and purpose.

Now, as he steps into a new role beyond our campus, we’re left not with an absence, but with a path. One marked by high standards, deep respect, and the unwavering belief that students can and will be G.R.E.A.T.

He reminded us that true leadership isn’t about being at the front — it’s about helping others move forward.

So we move ahead, carrying the lessons, the memories, and the momentum he gave us.
