Honoring Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Week with Our Community
As we take part in this national observance, weโre reminded of an important truth: keeping our communities safe is something we all contribute to, and even the smallest efforts can make a big difference.
Drug abuse affects far more than one individual; it impacts families, relationships, aspirations, and the future of our young people. Thatโs why Office of Counseling and Psychological Services stands with our university, parents, leaders, and the entire community to raise awareness and encourage meaningful conversations that protect and uplift.
This week, letโs make space to:
๐ Truly listen to our youth
๐ Offer support to those who may be facing challenges
๐ Learn more about the effects of drug abuse on health and well-being
๐ Work hand in hand to create a safer, healthier environment for all.
Every act of care, no matter how small, helps build a community where everyone can grow, feel valued, and stay safe.

World Su***de Prevention Day, observed every September 10th, highlights the urgent need to address su***de, a leading cause of death worldwide, by raising awareness and offering support.
In 2025, campaigns emphasize changing the narrative around su***de by transforming silence and stigma into empathy and action.
Su***de impacts millions annually, with over 720,000 deaths globally each year, and it affects people of all ages and communities.
The day encourages open conversations about mental health, recognizing warning signs, and connecting individuals to resources like crisis lifelines. Community support, policy advocacy, and education are key to saving lives and promoting hope.
