The Ifugao State UniversityโPotia Campus Assessment Center recently underwent the TESDA re-accreditation process for its Bread and Pastry Production (BPP) NC II and Housekeeping NC II assessment programs.
The activity was led by Ms. Daisy D. Hamorabon and Ms. Ellayne Abellera of TESDA, with Ms. Corrine Joy Tapo and Ms. Helen Buenconsejo serving as inspectors for Housekeeping NC II and Bread and Pastry Production NC II, respectively. The re-accreditation aimed to ensure the continued compliance of the assessment center with TESDA standards and requirements for quality competency assessment services.

The College of Business and Management has officially deployed its Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) students for their Practicum 1 On-the-Job Training (OJT), where they will complete 200 hours of industry immersion.
The students are assigned to partner agencies including Orchard Hotel, New Town Plaza, Giligan's Restaurant, and Fort Ilocandia Resort Hotel. This training provides valuable hands-on experience and strengthens their professional and hospitality skills in real workplace settings.
The initiative supports SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by promoting experiential learning, employability, and industry collaboration.

The activity was spearheaded by the Department of Trade and IndustryโNegosyo Center (DTI-NC) Alfonso Lista and aimed to provide technical assistance to 20 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and 10 professionals.
Representing CBM as resource speakers were Dr. Augusto L. Gali-om, and Mr. Emanuel A. Gamiao. Through their presentations and discussions, they shared valuable insights on effective negotiation strategies, helping participants strengthen their communication, decision-making, and business management skills.
The participation of CBM faculty shows the collegeโs commitment to community engagement and capacity-building initiatives that empower entrepreneurs and professionals toward greater productivity and competitiveness.

The Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management (IPTBM) Office of Ifugao State University successfully conducted a series of Fairness Opinion Board (FOB) evaluations spearheaded by Department of Science and Technology (DOST), culminating in the Ceremonial Signing of the Technology Licensing Agreement (TLA) on June 3, 2026.
The landmark event marked the first technology licensing agreement in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) between Ifugao State University and Maynandros Integrated Farm, recognizing the transfer and commercialization of the university-developed technologies entitled โProcess of Producing Calamansi with Tomato Extract Bath Soapsโ and โComposition of Producing Calamansi with Tomato Extract Bath Soaps.โ
The technologies were developed by Dr. Lorna C. Ildefonso, who served as the researcher and technology generator of the innovation. The agreement highlights IFSUโs commitment to transforming research outputs into market-ready products that contribute to community development and economic growth.
This initiative advances the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by fostering innovation, technology commercialization, and collaborative partnerships between academia and industry.

Students from the College of Business and Management (CBM) proudly represented the institution in the MMSU InLeaD: Virtual Cultural and Gastronomic Exploration in the Ilocos Region, Philippines, held on May 18โ23, 2026.
The participating students were Alpha Mae Lucas, Roselyn Almerol, both Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) students, and Michael Angelo Sindao, a Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship (BSENTREP) student.
Organized as a platform for fostering intercultural understanding and enhancing academic engagement through innovative, technology-driven, and globally relevant learning programs, MMSU InLeaD highlighted the rich cultural heritage and culinary traditions of the Ilocos Region within the context of tourism and hospitality education.
Through the virtual exploration, the student participants gained valuable insights into cultural preservation, gastronomy, tourism development, and global academic collaboration. The program also provided opportunities for intercultural exchange and strengthened studentsโ appreciation of Filipino heritage and hospitality.
The participation of the CBM students supports several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by promoting inclusive and globally relevant learning experiences; SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, through the advancement of tourism and hospitality education; and SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, by encouraging the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage and local traditions.
CBM continues to empower students to engage in meaningful academic activities that broaden their global perspectives and develop their competencies in tourism, hospitality, and entrepreneurship.
