Making history at IFSU Potia, the AVR transformed into a courtroom arena as the 4th Year Criminology students from Sections AโE, under the guidance of Ms. Sally Angihan, delivered their first-ever Moot Court Presentation on November 28, 2025. The event showcased the studentsโ growing expertise as they demonstrated legal knowledge, sharp reasoning, and strong courtroom presence, bringing academic theories to life.
The students were divided into two groups, each presenting a compelling case that tested their skills in legal reasoning, public speaking, and strategic thinking.
The featured cases were:
THEFT CASE
Prosecutor: Ms. Sheinne Tinambacan
Defense Counsel: Mr. Darel Chumayyo
VAWC CASE (Violence Against Women and Their Children)
Prosecutor: Mr. Jefferson Ahawan
Defense Counsel: Mr. Ian Kith Eugene Dacumos
Both teams handled these sensitive cases with professionalism, offering structured arguments and demonstrating clarity, confidence, and courtroom discipline.
The Moot Court was facilitated by Atty. Irvin Alexei Mendoza, who ensured proper courtroom procedures were observed.
A distinguished panel evaluated the presentations:
Atty. Alvin Biwit
Maโam Julie Faith Payado
Dean Arthur Gubia-on
Their constructive feedback highlighted the studentsโ strengths in legal understanding, courtroom decorum, and critical thinking, providing valuable insights for further growth.
This Activity was more than an academic requirementโit was an immersive, transformative experience. The students displayed confidence, teamwork, and legal skill, proving their readiness to face real-world legal challenges. As the first-ever Moot Court at IFSU Potia, it stands as a proud testament to the dedication of CCJE faculty and students, marking an important milestone in shaping the next generation of legal professionals.
