The IFSU Criminology Students successfully conducted their On-the-Job Training (OJT) Orientation at the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), marking an important step in preparing students for their field deployment and professional development.

The orientation commenced at 8:00 AM with an Opening Prayer led by Sydney Mendoza, followed by the National Anthem conducted by Falon Wansen. The program was formally welcomed through the Opening Remarks of Moises A. Guay, PhD, Dean of the College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE).

The students were privileged to have FINSP Lence Gammad Amurao, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, as the guest speaker for the orientation. The session provided the participants with valuable knowledge and insights regarding the mandate, functions, operational procedures, responsibilities, and role of the Bureau of Fire Protection in ensuring fire safety and protecting lives and properties.

The orientation also emphasized the importance of discipline, preparedness, professionalism, situational awareness, and effective coordination as the students prepare for their OJT and future careers in the field of criminology and public safety.

Through this orientation, the IFSU Criminology Students continue to strengthen their readiness, competence, and commitment to serve, protect, and uphold public safety.

The Project READY Criminology Interns (Resilient, Empowered, Aligning, and Digitally-Yoked) successfully conducted a two-day Pre-Deployment and Capability Training Program designed to equip criminology interns with essential knowledge and practical understanding before their deployment to their respective Host Training Establishments (HTEs).

The two-day orientation provided participants with valuable insights into the operational procedures, mandates, organizational structures, functions, customs, and traditions of various law enforcement and public safety agencies.

The first day commenced with an Opening Prayer, followed by the Opening Remarks of Sir Doming P. Agwilang, formally introducing the participants to the Host Training Establishment and its operational framework.

The morning session featured a lecture on the Philippine National Police (PNP), focusing on its operational procedures, mission, organizational structure, functions, customs, and traditions. The discussion provided the participants with a deeper understanding of the PNP's role in maintaining peace and order and ensuring public safety.

In the afternoon, a lecture on the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) was conducted, covering its operational procedures, mission, organizational structure, functions, customs, and traditions. The session gave participants an overview of the agency's mandate in jail management and custodial services.

The second day focused on Tri-Bureau Operational Procedures and Inter-Agency Compliance Review, emphasizing coordination, cooperation, and adherence to established procedures among concerned agencies.

Beginning at 1:00 PM, the Philippine National Police (PNP) discussed Law Enforcement and First Responder Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), together with the Pre-Deployment Briefing, highlighting the importance of proper protocols, effective coordination, readiness, situational awareness, and professionalism in responding to law enforcement and emergency situations and in carrying out their duties during their field deployment.

The two-day orientation concluded with Closing Remarks and a Closing Prayer, marking the successful completion of the activity.

The 4th Year students of the College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) of Ifugao State Universityโ€“Potia Campus conducted a clean-up drive as part of their commitment to promoting environmental stewardship, discipline, and community responsibility.

The activity brought together the students in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the campus surroundings. Through active participation and teamwork, the students demonstrated the value of civic responsibility and collective action in creating a clean, safe, and conducive learning environment.
