𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | A consultative meeting with Dr. Prose Ivy G. Yepes, VSU President, was held on May 6, 2026, at the Conference Room, bringing together students, faculty, and administrators to discuss key updates and campus concerns.

The event highlighted institutional achievements, including student and staff recognition, alongside announcements of new initiatives, such as academic support and student benefits. An oath-taking ceremony for newly promoted personnel also took place.

During the open forum, students were given the opportunity to raise concerns, including the eligibility of transferee students for Latin honors, the lack of functional classrooms to accommodate all students, and the availability of a student portal for the easy and prompt viewing of grades.

𝙇𝙊𝙊𝙆 | Student leaders from Visayas State University (VSU) Alangalang participated in the PHILCAUSE National Youth Summer Camp, a YAKAP ng Kabataang Pinoy – Experiential Service-Learning Program on SDGs (YAKAP-ESLP on SDGs 2026), held from March 24–27, 2026, at Pine Breeze Cottages and Gestdan Centrum, Bokawkan Road, Baguio City. With the theme “ADVOKAYA 2026: Ikaw at Ako sa Adbokasiyang may Puso, Kaya natin ‘to!”, the event brought together young leaders from across the country.

Representing VSU Alangalang were Carl Jhon Abala, USSC President; Gabriel B. Cobalida, USSC Vice-President; and Trisha Faye P. Balida, FFES-SSC President, accompanied by their adviser, Ms. Karen R. Lira.

The three-day program was organized by the Philippine Community of Advocates United for Students Empowerment (PHILCAUSE), Inc., in partnership with Bicol University. It gathered student leaders and key stakeholders from various institutions for leadership training, team-building activities, and collaborative workshops designed to strengthen their roles as advocates of national development.

During the event, VSU Alangalang was also awarded a Certificate of Institutional Membership by PHILCAUSE, Inc. This recognition signifies the university’s intention to support and take part in the organization’s advocacies, particularly in promoting student empowerment, experiential service learning, and youth-led initiatives aligned with national development priorities and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | In line with the celebration of International Women’s Month, with the theme "𝘌𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘞𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘯, 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘚𝘢𝘧𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘐𝘯𝘤𝘭𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘚𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘴," the Gender and Development office will conduct a Zumba program, followed by an academic awareness program focused on the Magna Carta of Women (RA 9710) and the Safe Spaces Act (RA 11313) on March 25, 2026, at the gymnasium. The event highlights the importance of promoting both physical well-being and gender awareness to build a more inclusive, safe, and empowered community.

𝑊𝑎𝑛𝑛𝑎 𝑓𝑢𝑒𝑙 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑀𝑖𝑑𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑚𝑠 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑎 𝑆𝐶𝑂𝑂𝑃, 𝐴𝐴 𝑉𝑖𝑠𝑐𝑎𝑛𝑠? 𝐻𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚......

The University Supreme Student Council Alangalang, in collaboration with the I-CARE Math Extension Project Proponents, successfully conducted its Community Outreach Activity at Bienvenido Guillera Celebre National High School (BGCNHS), Uguiao Jaro, Leyte, on March 11, 2026. School supplies were distributed to 80 Grade 7 learners, and snacks were provided for over 150 students, all beneficiaries of the Extension Project.

The Council was represented by Hon. Carl Jhon Abala, USSC President; Hon. Gabriel B. Cobalida, USSC Vice-President; Hon. Franze Marie Velarde, USSC Secretary; Hon. Anthony Pacheco, USSC BOD; and Ms. Ledeza J. Babiano, USSC Adviser for External Affairs.

The 𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙎𝙪𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙚 𝙎𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝘾𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙡 𝘼𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙜 proudly presents its 𝘼𝙘𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙝𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙍𝙚𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩 for the First Semester of Academic Year 2025–2026.

This report presents the programs, activities, and initiatives conducted by the council to serve and support the student body. Guided by unity, responsibility, and service, the USSC Alangalang worked throughout the semester to promote student welfare, leadership, transparency, and active participation.

We sincerely thank the university administration, partner organizations, and students who made these accomplishments possible. The USSC Alangalang remains committed to continuing its service and delivering programs that benefit Alangalang Viscans.
