Attention, All Alangalang Viscans!

A new academic year is about to begin, and Visayas State University Alangalang is officially opening it with the upcoming Student Onboarding for A.Y. 2026-2027.

Mark your calendars now as the two-day onboarding will be held on August 10โ€“11, 2026 (Monday - Tuesday), from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, at the VSUA Gymnasium.

All VSUA students are required to attend this event, especially incoming first-year students, as it will give them the opportunity to know the universityโ€™s policies, services, and other important information they will need throughout the academic year.

Dear Viscans,

Please be informed that the Management Information System (MIS) Office will conduct a cleanup of Google Workspace accounts to ensure efficient license utilization and account management.

As part of this activity, the following actions will be implemented:

โ€ข ๐—š๐—ผ๐—ผ๐—ด๐—น๐—ฒ ๐—ช๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ธ๐˜€๐—ฝ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ ๐—Ÿ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜€๐—ฒ ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐—บ๐—ผ๐˜ƒ๐—ฎ๐—น โ€“ Licenses assigned to inactive, unused, or ineligible accounts may be removed and reallocated to active users who require them.

โ€ข ๐—ฆ๐—ผ๐—ณ๐˜ ๐——๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ฒ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐—จ๐—ป๐˜‚๐˜€๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—”๐—ฐ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ป๐˜๐˜€ โ€“ Email accounts that are no longer in use or are deemed inactive may be placed under soft deletion. Soft deletion temporarily deactivates the account while allowing it to be restored if necessary.

๐—œ๐—บ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜: Once a user account has been deleted, it can be restored within 20 days. After the 20-day restoration period, the account and its associated data can no longer be restored through the Google Workspace Admin Console.

๐€๐ƒ๐•๐ˆ๐’๐Ž๐‘๐˜ | Please be informed that some of the Administrative offices of the Visayas State University (VSU) Alangalang will observe a Flexible Compressed Work Week schedule from Monday to Thursday, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM only, effective July 20, 2026 until further notice.

However, offices and staff directly involved in the enrollment process will continue to operate and report on a regular work schedule from Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm including Security and Health Services to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of frontline services.

๐‹๐Ž๐Ž๐Š | Visayas State University Alangalang earned 4th place in the 2026 STEM Olympiad held during the Regional Science and Technology Week (RSTW) on July 16, 2026, at Robinsons North, Tacloban City.

The competition brought together 11 teams from higher education institutions across Eastern Visayas. Representing VSUA were Carl Jhon Abala, a DOST scholar pursuing a Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Mathematics; Francisco Jordias, a Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Science student; Franze Marie Velarde, a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science student. The team was coached by Mr. Learjan A. Gilmore.

The Olympiad consisted of three rounds: the Warm-up Round, Do-or-Die Round, and Road to Glory Round. VSUA topped the Warm-up Round, finished second in the Do-or-Die Round, and advanced to the final stage as one of the top five teams with the highest cumulative scores.

The University of the Philippines Tacloban College emerged as the overall champion, followed by Palompon Institute of Technology in second place and Southern Leyte State University-Main Campus in third. VSUA concluded the competition with an impressive fourth-place finish among the region's top-performing teams.
