SM Foundation inaugurates two-story classroom building at ACNHS
By Vincent John C. Garcia
ALAMINOS CITY, June 11 — Alaminos City National High School (ACNHS) received a brand-new two-story classroom building today following a ceremonial turnover by SM Foundation Inc. (SMFI).
The event was led by Ms. Carmen Linda Atayde, SMFI Executive Director for Education, together with Ms. Eleanor P. Lansang, SMFI Vice President, and Ms. Eileen Delos Santos, SM Mall Manager.
“Like the two traffic situations we were caught up in on our way here, we also hurdled challenges in constructing the building because it was destroyed by a typhoon,” Atayde said.
She also empathized with teachers and students who continue to face challenges brought about by recent changes in the Philippine education system, including classroom congestion and shortages.
“We understand how you feel. Feel na feel namin ’yan because we go around places, visit the sites of our school buildings, and talk to teachers and those in the higher echelon of DepEd,” she said.
Atayde explained that when SMFI identifies a problem, it develops solutions, such as constructing school buildings to help decongest classrooms. However, she noted that the challenge remains as student enrollment continues to increase.
“The problems will not go away, but our attitudes in facing them can go a long way,” she added.
Meanwhile, Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Ely S. Ubaldo, CESO V, expressed gratitude to SMFI for donating the building, which will help ACNHS return to a one-shift schedule by providing four additional classrooms for students.
“With the Adopt-A-School Program of SMFI, it is not only spreading social good; it is also spreading hope to learners and encouraging them to do good,” Ubaldo said.
She added that SMFI’s nationwide classroom-building initiative is not only a manifestation of corporate social responsibility but also a ministry that reflects the goodness of God.
ACNHS Principal Rey B. Pascua likewise thanked SMFI for the turnover of the two-story, four-classroom building.
“SMFI’s invaluable support is a testament to its unwavering commitment to education and nation-building,” Pascua said.
He added that the foundation’s investment in learners will leave a lasting impact on the community for years to come.
The inauguration and turnover ceremony were also attended by key officials of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Alaminos City, key officials of SDO Alaminos City, officers of the ACNHS Parents-Teachers Association, officers of the Supreme Secondary Learner Government, ACNHS teaching and non-teaching personnel, and students from various special curricula.

Alos National High School ( Sir Ricardo Adviento)
Telbang National High School (Dr. Jose Gerardo Garcia).
San Vicente Elementary School (Dr. Sherryl Valdez)
Mga sasakyan ng mga empleyado ng paaralan;
Mga sasakyan ng DepEd na may opisyal na transaksyon;
Mga sasakyan ng mga ahensya ng pamahalaan na may opisyal na gawain;
School Management Team
