JUST IN: TNHS SHS Folk Dancers win Second Runner-up in 2026 Folk Dance Competition
Senior High School (SHS) students of Telbang National High School (TNHS) secured the Second Runner-Up title in the Folk Dance Competition 2026, held on September 23 at the Don Leopoldo Sison Convention Center in Alaminos City. The competition was organized by the Alaminos City Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office as part of the city’s 2026 Tourism Month Celebration.
The TNHS folk dancers—Romel Rabanal, Ken Racraquin, Benjamin Rabadon, Mark Anthony Salvatierra, Jan Rick Hangga, Justine Cabada, Rica Ella Legaspi, Eunise Flores, Jheselle Pejeder, Chenelle Gabriel, Zyrene Jazz Vaso, and Mateth Caampued—were recognized for their outstanding performance, artistry, creativity, and spirited presentation of Filipino folk traditions.
Behind this achievement was the dancers’ dedication and perseverance, as they went beyond their regular class hours to practice and prepare for the competition. Their extra time, teamwork, and determination played an important role in their successful performance.
The dancers were trained by Mr. Jestonie Malanum and coached by Ms. Selena Kim Naris and Ms. Christine Mae Rabanal, who guided, trained, and supported the team throughout their preparation for the competition.
The TNHS folk dancers also extend their sincere gratitude to the SHS teachers, parents, stakeholders, supporters, and individuals who provided financial assistance and other forms of support, making their participation in the competition possible.
This achievement reflects the hard work, discipline, and dedication of the dancers, trainers, coaches, and everyone who stood behind the team.
Congratulations, TNHS SHS folk dancers, trainer, and coaches! Your TNHS-SHS Department family is proud of you! 👏
