In support of TAGISAN 2026, the Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) of Alegria National High School proudly introduces the โ€œ๐Œ๐จ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐„๐œ๐จ-๐…๐ซ๐ข๐ž๐ง๐๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐“๐ž๐š๐ฆโ€ Award.

All six (6) participating teams from Grades 7โ€“12 will be assessed throughout the September 2โ€“4, 2026 Intramurals based on their environmental practices, including:

- Compliance with the No to Single-Use Plastic Policy
- Cleanliness and orderliness of team areas
- Proper waste segregation and disposal
- Environmental discipline and active participation
- Environmental initiatives and best practices

Through this initiative, YES-O aims to encourage every team to demonstrate that sportsmanship goes beyond winning gamesโ€”it also means taking responsibility for our school and the environment.

Let us keep our playing grounds, team areas, and school community clean, responsible, and plastic-free.

DepEd RXII Alegria National High School officially elected its new set of Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) officers for School Year 2026โ€“2027 on Monday, August 3, 2026.

Elected as president is ๐‹๐š๐ข๐œ๐š ๐๐ข๐งฬƒ๐š ๐‹. ๐’๐š๐ฅ๐ฏ๐š๐ฅ๐ž๐จ๐ง, who previously served as the organizationโ€™s secretary during the past school year. Her election reflects the learnersโ€™ trust in her experience, leadership, and continued commitment to environmental advocacy.

Joining her are Justine Dave Magno, vice president; Jaendice L. Codilla, secretary; Gwennyth Ann O. Lejarso, treasurer; Shaira Mae D. Pag-ong, auditor; and Girlie Joy T. Aquino, public information officer.

The newly elected officers are expected to lead environmental initiatives that promote waste reduction, resource conservation, climate awareness, and active student participation in building a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable school community.

A total of 108 graduating Grade 12 students of Alegria National High School actively participated in the ILOG NATIN: SAGIP NATIN Linao River Rehabilitation Project on March 20, 2026, in collaboration with the Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O), the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK), and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Alegria.

As part of the initiative, the students contributed to the planting of 300 seedlings of native tree species along the Linao Riverbank, supporting efforts toward ecological restoration and riverbank protection. Following the tree planting activity, the students also spearheaded a clean-up drive and conducted a Waste and Brand Audit (WaBA), reinforcing responsible waste management practices and environmental accountability within the community.

The integrated activities reflect a holistic approach to environmental action, combining ecosystem restoration with data-driven waste assessment to better understand local waste patterns and inform sustainable interventions.

According to Victor Melitante, YES-O Coordinator, the planting of native tree species along the Linao Riverbank and Ulas Riverside, alongside clean-up drives and Waste and Brand Audits, will be institutionalized as one of the organizationโ€™s regular programs.

Alegria, Alabel, Sarangani โ€” The Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O), together with selected Grade 12 STEM students, conducted a Waste and Brand Audit (WaBA) at Alegria National High School on January 15, 2026, as part of their initiative to promote a research-based intervention aimed at reducing plastic waste within the school campus.

The WaBA activity involved systematically identifying, sorting, and recording different types and brands of waste generated in the school. The data gathered will serve as baseline information to better understand waste patterns and to inform evidence-based strategies for improving solid waste management practices in the school.

This Waste and Brand Audit will be conducted repeatedly over several periods to ensure sufficient and reliable data collection. Through this initiative, students are actively applying research skills while contributing to environmental sustainability and responsible waste reduction.

The activity reflects Alegria National High Schoolโ€™s commitment to youth-led, data-driven environmental action and to fostering a culture of environmental responsibility among learners.

This afternoon, the Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) of Alegria National High School conducted a site assessment and coordination meeting in preparation for their upcoming Tree Growing Activity on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.

YES-O President Khendra Vergara led the walk-through and identified three key planting sites within the school grounds. Each location was evaluated for soil condition, space, and accessibility, with specific numbers of trees to be planted per area already determined.

Following the assessment, YES-O Adviser Vik Melitante facilitated a short learning session on ๐–๐š๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž ๐“๐ฒ๐ฉ๐ž๐ฌ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐–๐š๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž ๐š๐ง๐ ๐๐ซ๐š๐ง๐ ๐€๐ฎ๐๐ข๐ญ (๐–๐š๐๐€). This provided officers with essential insights on the importance of waste segregation and data collection, which are also part of the organizationโ€™s environmental action plans.

The activity marks another step forward in the organizationโ€™s commitment to building a greener, more sustainable campus. With teamwork, planning, and purpose, the YES-O continues to take the lead in environmental stewardship at Alegria NHS.

Alegria National High School proudly announces the newly elected officers of the Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) for School Year 2025โ€“2026, led by Ryleigh Khendra Vergara as President.

Joining her in championing environmental advocacy are Richelyn Albarando as Vice President, Laica Niรฑa Salvaleon as Secretary, Johhana Ursal as Treasurer, Airishly Biscocho as Auditor, and Lenard Marco as Public Relations Officer. Representing each grade level are Venice Elouiza Catap (Grade 7), Marie Cris Galupo (Grade 8, Maetha Ladica (Grade 9), Justine Magno (Grade 10), Girlie Aquino (Grade 11), and Dimple Pagalangan (Grade 12).
