Today, Naomi's Heart Mission Christian Academy Inc. (NHMCAI) proudly took part in the 4th Native Chicken Festival – Lanton Satellite, celebrating the rich culture, traditions, and unity of the community.

Our talented learners showcased their skills through a captivating Native Dance Performance, an energetic Majorette Band Exhibition, and their enthusiastic participation in the Native Chicken Float Parade. Their dedication, confidence, and teamwork truly reflected the spirit of NHMCAI and made us proud.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the organizers for inviting our school to be part of this meaningful celebration. Thank you as well to our hardworking teachers, supportive parents, and students whose efforts made this event a success.

🌱 Tree Planting Activity | Growing a Greener Tomorrow 🌿

Naomi's Heart Mission Christian Academy, Inc. (NHMCAI), in partnership with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), successfully conducted a Tree Planting Activity as part of our shared commitment to environmental protection and community stewardship.

This meaningful initiative brought together students, teachers, staff and BJMP personnel in planting trees that will help create a greener, healthier, and more sustainable future. More than planting seedlings, we planted hope, responsibility, and a deeper appreciation for the environment in the hearts of our learners.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the BJMP for partnering with us in this worthwhile endeavor. Together, we continue to inspire the next generation to become responsible stewards of God's creation.

NHMCAI Holds Psychosocial First Aid Training to Promote Mental Health Awareness

GENERAL SANTOS CITY — The Naomi's Heart Mission Christian Academy, Inc. (NHMCAI), in partnership with Naomi's Heart Mission Association Inc. (NHMAI), successfully conducted a Psychosocial First Aid (PFA) Training on July 3, 2026, at the Grade 1 Classroom, NHMCAI Campus, Purok 6, Lanton, Apopong, General Santos City.

The training was led by Bishop Dr. Rey V. Serojales, who served as the guest speaker. Participants gained valuable knowledge and practical skills on providing immediate emotional and psychological support to individuals experiencing distress during emergencies, crises, and challenging life situations.

The activity aimed to equip teachers and staff with the principles of Psychosocial First Aid, emphasizing compassionate listening, effective communication, and appropriate support while promoting resilience and emotional well-being.

The event also strengthened NHMCAI's commitment to fostering a safe, caring, and resilient learning environment by preparing its community to respond with empathy and confidence during times of need.

Through initiatives like this, NHMCAI and NHMAI continue to uphold their mission of nurturing not only academic excellence but also the holistic well-being of every individual they serve.

Today marks the beginning of another exciting journey of learning, growth, and discovery at Naomi's Heart Mission Christian Academy, Inc. (NHMCAI)!

🚨 LINDOL: Intensity vs. Magnitude — Ano nga ba ang kaibahan? 🚨

Tuwing may lindol, madalas nating naririnig sa balita ang mga terminong Magnitude at Intensity. Pero alam mo ba na magkaiba ang kahulugan ng dalawang ito?

Para hindi na tayo malito sa susunod, alamin natin ang kanilang pagkakaiba gamit ang gabay na ito mula sa PHIVOLCS

📊 MAGNITUDE (Gaano kalakas ang lindol?)

Kahulugan: Ito ang sukat ng kabuuang enerhiya na inilabas ng lindol mula sa pinanggalingan nito (focus).

Katangian: Pare-pareho ito sa lahat ng lugar. Ang isang lindol ay may iisa lamang na magnitude.

Paano sinusukat: Sinusukat ito gamit ang seismograph at ipinahahayag sa mga numerong gaya ng Magnitude 2.0, 5.0, 6.5, at iba pa (gamit ang Richter Scale).

🏢 INTENSITY (Gaano kalakas ang naramdaman ko?)

Kahulugan: Ito ang sukat ng epekto o lakas ng pagyanig na naramdaman at naranasan sa isang partikular na lugar.

Katangian: Nagbabago ito at maaaring magkaiba sa bawat lugar. Depende ito sa layo ng lugar sa epicenter, uri ng lupa, at tibay ng mga gusali.

Malapit sa Epicenter: Mas malakas ang pagyanig at mas malaki ang pinsala.

Malayo sa Epicenter: Mas mahina ang pagyanig at mas kaunti ang pinsala.

Paano sinusukat: Batay ito sa naramdaman ng mga tao at pinsalang idinulot sa paligid gamit ang PHIVOLCS Earthquake Intensity Scale (I - X).

💡 HALIMBAWA:

Kung nagkaroon ng lindol na may Magnitude 6.5:

Ang mga lugar na malapit sa epicenter ay maaaring makaranas ng Intensity VII (Destructive) o napakalakas na pagyanig.

Ang mga lugar naman na malayo sa epicenter ay maaaring makaranas lamang ng Intensity III (Weak) o mahinang pagyanig.

TANDAAN:

🔹 MAGNITUDE = Gaano kalakas ang mismong lindol?

🔹 INTENSITY = Gaano kalakas ang naramdaman at naging epekto nito sa akin o sa lugar ko?
