It has been 4 years and 7 months since you have travelled to Alabat Island riding on our 'bangka' and RoRo which you obviously preferred especially during the stormy weather. It was not always a smooth sailing journey, but that 4 years and 7 months since you have arrived in the portals of Alabat Island National High School has changed so many lives including yourself.
Your speeches after the flag ceremony and programs always start by greeting us 'Namaste!' which is a Hindi word that means "The divine light in me bows to the divine light within you." Then you would end by quoting Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Your strong belief in divine interventions, forces, and blessings has been the lighthouse of the school personnel and students.
In a short span of time, the school transformed into a sustainable environment wherein both nature and structures coexist conducive for working and learning. They say you are Midas, with every touch of your leadership, the school turns into a quality of gold. Yet, you would always counteract people by emphasizing that the real pearls of the school are the faculty and the stakeholders. The 'bayanihan' spirit of Alabatins amazes you every time.
Countless and non-stop awards and recognitions that Alabat Island National High School has received in your leadership. We even got featured in 'Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho.' Our school may have strived and reached excellence one after the other, however, you would always remind us that excellence is nothing without inclining ourselves to the right heart, mind, and intentions.
That is when KKKDM was born. Kabutihan, Katatagan, Kasipagan, Disiplina, and Malasakit are the five core values that you want us to live by. If we possess all these values, we can all be humane and work together in harmony towards the goal and that is to serve the Filipino children regardless of our shortcomings and imperfections.
Even if the waves are crashing through our vessel, you can still put up a smile and joke around. You even laugh hard. You are at ease with us. Because you were more than a principal, you are a father, a mentor, a life coach, and our dear friend.
Thank you for being the wind to push our sails to the wonders of life that we never thought we would experience and attain. Thank you for being our captain who directs us to our path whenever we feel lost. Thank you for being the North Star that twinkles our dimmest nights.
Wherever you may be, we only wish for three things. First, to take care of your health. Second, that you may get what your heart desires in life. Lastly, to continuously be humbled by the abundant blessings that you will still be receiving.
Your 'namaste' will be forever echoed with your voice in our heads. In fact, namaste is not just a respectful way of saying hello, it is also a gracious way of saying 'goodbye.'
But, we would like to remind you that,
"Once you found beauty and love in Alabat, you will keep coming back."
