“Bahalag gamay, basta abot langit ang kalipay”
The Magaud National High School successfully celebrated its 1st Grand Alumni Homecoming 2026 on May 30, 2026, at the Magaud Covered Court, Barangay Magaud, Loreto, Agusan del Sur.
The event brought together alumni from various batches, along with distinguished guests who have played significant roles in the history and development of the school. Among those present were Hon. Jimmy R. Ramos, Barangay Captain and founder of the school; Mrs. Doris M. Valencia, the first School Principal of the institution whose leadership laid the foundation for many of the school's milestones and achievements; Ranji P. Jeminez, a former teacher who later became principal; Julito Encarnacion, former TLE teacher; and Alberta B. Ramos, one of the pioneering educators of the institution who has since retired from public service.
Mrs. Valencia's contributions were especially recognized during the celebration. As the pioneering School Principal, she played a vital role in the school's transformation and development. The institution began as an Integrated School under the leadership of Mr. Roel B. Otero, who served as the Elementary School Principal. Through the years, it evolved into Sto. Tomas National High School–Magaud Annex and eventually became the independent Magaud National High School known today. This remarkable journey was made possible through the collective efforts of many stakeholders, with Mrs. Valencia's dedication and leadership serving as one of the driving forces behind the school's growth and success.
The gathering was filled with joy and excitement as alumni finally had the opportunity to reunite after years of anticipation. The long-awaited event, which had been postponed several times in previous years, became a memorable occasion where former classmates, teachers, and friends reconnected and reminisced about their cherished experiences at their alma mater.
The celebration officially commenced at 7:00 a.m. with a motorcade and continued with various activities and programs that strengthened camaraderie and unity among the alumni. One of the highlights of the event was the election of the new set of officers for the Alumni Association. Following the election, an oath-taking ceremony was conducted and administered by Ranji P. Jeminez.
The newly elected officers are headed by Shella S. Ewa as President of the General Alumni Association, together with her fellow officers from the Vice President position down to the Batch Representatives. Their election reflects the trust and confidence of the alumni community in leading the organization and advancing programs and initiatives that will benefit both the school and its graduates.
The oath-taking ceremony symbolized the officers’ commitment to serve with integrity, promote unity among alumni, and strengthen the relationship between the association and their beloved alma mater. It also marked the beginning of a new chapter for the organization, filled with renewed hope, dedication, and a shared vision for the future.
The event concluded at 10:00 p.m. with a fellowship gathering and BBQ Party, where alumni from different batches shared meals, stories, and laughter, further deepening the bonds that connect them despite the passing of time.
The Pioneering Batch extends its heartfelt gratitude to all alumni, guests, sponsors, and supporters whose presence and contributions made the 1st Grand Alumni Homecoming a meaningful and successful celebration. The event stands as a testament to the enduring spirit of unity, friendship, and pride that continues to thrive among the graduates of Magaud National High School.
As alumni reflected on the institution's humble beginnings and remarkable journey, they also honored the visionary leaders, educators, and community partners whose dedication helped shape the school into what it is today. Their legacy continues to inspire present and future generations of learners to strive for excellence and service.
