The CCHAMS Year End Party 2025 lit up the CCHAMS Grounds on the morning of December 18, 2025, bringing students together for a fun-filled and unforgettable celebration. The event kicked off with students showing off their creativity as they dressed as their favorite movie characters, striking poses and walking the runway, instantly transforming the venue into a lively scene straight out of the big screen.

Laughter and excitement filled the air as a series of parlor games kept everyone on their feet, cheering and fully engaged. These games added energy to the program and gave students a chance to bond and enjoy the moment after a busy academic year.

Organized by the CCHAMS Student Body Organization, the event was made even more special with prizes generously sponsored by faculty members. The celebration reflected the creativity and strong school spirit, making the Year End Party a joyful and meaningful way for the CCHAMS community to close the year together.

Thunderous applause filled the JDA Hall on December 17, 2025, as DMMMSU-SLUC representatives captured the spotlight and claimed the prestigious titles of Mr. and Ms. DMMMSU PASUC 2025, bringing honor and distinction not only to the College of Community Health and Allied Medical Sciences (CCHAMS) but to the entire Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University–South La Union Campus (DMMMSU-SLUC).

The much-anticipated coronation of the Search for Mr. and Ms. DMMMSU PASUC 2025 was a dazzling display of talent, poise, and charisma, as candidates from the various DMMMSU campuses—SLUC, MLUC, NLUC, and DOUS—showcased their unique skills and personalities before an enthusiastic audience.

Mr. Anthony Ruden Mangaoang, Jr., who represented DMMMSU-SLUC, demonstrated remarkable confidence, intellect, and charm, earning the title of Mr. DMMMSU PASUC 2025. His commanding stage presence and eloquence also brought him several minor awards, including Social Media King, Best in Production Outfit, Best in Casual Wear, and Most Articulate, highlighting his versatility and appeal.

Matching his excellence, Ms. Carmela Alyssa Alupay captivated judges and spectators alike with her grace, poise, and articulate responses, earning the crown of Ms. DMMMSU PASUC 2025. She also received multiple minor awards, such as Miss Photogenic, Social Media Queen, Best in Production Outfit, Best in Casual Wear, and Most Articulate, demonstrating her intelligence, confidence, and stage charisma.

Guiding their journey and preparing them for the competition were Dr. Rodelio Indong and Prof. Rolando Roncal, Jr. as coaches for Mr. Mangaoang, and Dr. Rodelio Indong and Prof. Jewell Llavore as coaches for Ms. Alupay. Both contestants also received valuable support from Prof. Salvador Llavore, whose guidance and encouragement contributed significantly to honing their skills and strengthening their stage presence.

The impressive wins of Mr. Mangaoang and Ms. Alupay were a proud moment for CCHAMS, highlighting the college’s commitment to nurturing talented and confident individuals. Their remarkable performances not only brought honor to DMMMSU-SLUC but also set a high standard for excellence, leaving a lasting impression on judges, peers, and the enthusiastic audience alike.

Set to compete in the upcoming PASUC 2026 at the University of Northern Philippines in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur, Mr. Mangaoang and Ms. Alupay are poised to represent DMMMSU on a larger stage. Standing as symbols of grace, intellect, and service, they carry forward the university’s values with confidence and purpose as they prepare to bring honor to their institution once more.

Athletes representing the College of Community Health and Allied Medical Sciences (CCHAMS) delivered an impressive performance in the Arnis events during the University Sports Meet '25, earning multiple gold medals across different categories.

Eloida B. Ordinario won Gold medals in Padded Stick and Live Stick under the Bantam Weight division.

Kimberly Egar secured Gold medals in Synchronize Solo Weapon, Synchronize Sword and Dagger, Padded Stick (Open Weight), and Live Stick (Open Weight).

Kristine Joy D. Domingo dominated her events, winning Gold medals in Traditional Solo Weapon, Synchronize Solo Weapon, Synchronize Double Weapon, Synchronize Sword and Dagger, and Padded Stick (Extra Light Weight).

Natasha C. Padilla added to the medal count with Gold medals in Padded Stick (Light Weight) and Live Stick (Light Weight).

SLUC Eagles Arnis Women's Team demonstrated exceptional skill, discipline, and commitment throughout the University Sports Meet.

The College of Community Health and Allied Medical Sciences once again delivered a strong showing as its athletes dominated multiple brackets in the Table Tennis Women competition held on December 15, 2025.

The Women’s Singles A and B events saw continued excellence from the SLUC Eagles. Joana Marie Tavora of BSN 1 and Ma. Julibeth De Vera of BSN 2 both claimed gold, each posting clean 3–0 records and firmly holding their place at the top of the podium.

Silver honors in the women’s division doubles event went to Mikylla Shayne Ducusin and Lauren Jewel Pepito of BSN 3, who finished with two wins and one loss after a series of intense, extended rallies against the NLUC Tamaraws.

For the mixed doubles event, strong momentum and on-court cohesion carried the athletes to a silver finish after a grueling, rally-filled match against the NLUC Tamaraws, who claimed first place.

Athletes who secured gold medals will serve as official representatives in the upcoming Region 1 SCUAA, scheduled to take place at the University of Northern Philippines from February 23 to 27, 2026.

The CCHAMS family proudly congratulates its table tennis athletes for yet another milestone of excellence, discipline, and competitive spirit in collegiate athletics.

The SLUC Men’s Table Tennis Team asserted complete dominance after sweeping all gold medals in the men’s division of the DMMMSU University Sports Meet 2025.

SLUC ruled the competition across Singles Bracket A, Singles Bracket B, and Doubles, sealing a clean sweep that highlighted the campus’ s depth and consistency in the sport.

Gold medalists in the singles events included Yuan Bautista of the College of Education (CE) and Leonardo Ronquillo of the College of Agriculture (CA), with Jerom Niñalga (CE) and Neumann Abulencia of the College of Community Health and Allied Medical Sciences (CCHAMS) also contributing to SLUC’s dominant run. The men’s doubles category further reinforced SLUC’s supremacy as the tandem outplayed their opponents to secure another gold medal.

Despite the commanding results, Abulencia, a first-year CCHAMS student-athlete competing in Singles Bracket A, revealed that he entered the competition while still recovering from illness.

Abulencia admitted that the primary challenge was enduring the matches despite his condition.

“Siguro ang pinaka-challenge ko lang po noon is kung paano ko maiiraos ang matches, kasi kagagaling ko lang po sa lagnat nung Sunday at may sinat pa ako nung naglaro ako ng Monday. Buong akala ko talaga di na ako makakapaglaro non,” he said.

Still, Abulencia managed to sweep all his matches in straight sets.

“Kahit may hilo at hindi pa 100% ang kondisyon ko nung Monday, kinaya pa rin naman nating ipanalo lahat ng matches na 3–0 sa bawat set. I’m glad na despite sa sakit, kinaya kong ma-ace ang bawat larong nilaro ko,” he added.

After the final match, Abulencia expressed a sense of fulfillment that went beyond the medal.

“Pagkatapos po ng match, saya at fulfillment ang naramdaman ko. Lahat ng araw na sinakripisyo ko sa training—lalo na at hectic ang schedule natin sa CCHAMS at may mga lectures akong kinailangang ma-miss—ramdam ko pong sulit lahat, na para bang it all paid off,” he said.

The victory also brought him closer to a long-time aspiration.

“Isa po talaga sa mga pangarap ko ang maranasan ang SCUAA, at di ko aakalain na mararanasan ko agad ito sa unang taon ko sa kolehiyo,” Abulencia shared.

As a first-year collegiate athlete, he acknowledged the unfamiliar environment and pressure of competition.

“Bilang isang first-year college student, bago po sa akin ang lahat—ang environment, pressure, at level ng competition. Kaya sobrang thankful po ako sa suporta ng pamilya ko, mga kaibigan, teammates, at coaches. Hindi ko po maaabot ito kung hindi nila ako patuloy na tinulak at sinuportahan,” he said.

With a complete sweep of gold medals, the SLUC Men’s Table Tennis Team showcased excellence, discipline, and resilience—firmly establishing the campus as a dominant force in the university meet and setting a strong foundation for future regional competitions.

The SLUC Eagles showcased strength and determination in the men’s swimming competition during the University Sports Meet 2025, held at Swimmer’s World in Agoo, La Union on December 15-16, 2025. Competing against the other DMMMSU campuses, the Eagles of the South demonstrated their competitive spirit and teamwork as they bagged 2 gold, 16 silver, and 10 bronze medals in the men’s swimming category.

The team’s performance highlighted their discipline, teamwork, and resilience across the different swimming events, which significantly contributed to the university’s overall medal tally. Among the members of the SLUC Eagles men’s swimming team, four members are students from the College of Community Health and Allied Medical Sciences (CCHAMS), underscoring the student-athletes’ commitment to both academics and sports.

Among the CCHAMS representatives, Angelo C. Riconalla, a BSN Level 1 student, earned bronze medals as part of the 4x200m Freestyle Relay and the 4x100m Medley Relay teams. John Paul S. Ochoco, a BSN Level 3 student, also secured bronze medals in the same relay events. Meanwhile, Kevin Matthew M. Mendoza of BSN Level 2 contributed to a bronze medal finish in the 4x200m Freestyle Relay, while Jemari L. Cala, also from BSN Level 2, helped clinch a bronze medal in the 4x100m Medley Relay.

The Eagles swimmers team in the women’s category brought home a total of 23 gold medals, 16 of which were won by CCHAMS athletes, during the swimming competition held at Agoo Swimmers World Resort and Restaurant as part of the three-day University Sports and Cultural Olympics 2025.

Swimming their way to victory, Leticia Mae Jam C. Macanlalay of BSN 2 dominated multiple events, securing gold medals in the 4×50m Medley Relay, 200m Freestyle, 50m Freestyle, 800m Freestyle, 4×100m Freestyle Relay, 100m Freestyle, 4×50m Freestyle Relay, and 400m Freestyle. Meanwhile, Rai Ann Kailee L. Nang of BSN 1 showcased remarkable precision and power in every stroke, claiming gold in the 4×50m Medley Relay, 100m Breaststroke, 4×100m Freestyle Relay, 200m Breaststroke, 4×50m Freestyle Relay, 50m Butterfly, 50m Breaststroke, and 200m Individual Medley. Joining them in representing SLUC from CCHAMS were Mariane Mae R. Campos and Eralyn R. Gamboa, both from BSN 2, who also contributed to the team’s success.

As swimmers from different teams transformed the pool into a display of speed, technique, and endurance, the Eagles rose above the competition with discipline, technical excellence, and unwavering competitive spirit to claim victory.

Congratulations to the CCHAMS athletes for their outstanding performance in representing SLUC at the University Sports and Cultural Olympics 2025. Beyond the medals earned were the team’s determination, sportsmanship, discipline, refined techniques, and collective effort that led them to triumph.

Through sickness and in health the SLUC (South La Union Campus) Eagles Women's Futsal Team upheld their vow to fight despite health adversities, ultimately securing second place in the recently concluded University Sports Meet 2025.

The SLUC Eagles suffered a narrow 4-3 loss against the MLUC Trojans at Marcos Sports Complex last December 15. According to one of the Futsal players, Chloe Alcantara, "Yung laro namin today is challenging siya para sa amin kasi may mga teammates kaming may dinaramdam, inaacid and may sinat."

Ms. Alcantara also stated that the game started strong, with the Eagles taking the lead. However as the game progressed, the team struggled with their defense and experienced slow recovery, allowing the Trojans to mount a comeback and finish the game with a 4-3 result.

Representing the College of Community Health and Allied Medical Sciences (CCHAMS) were Chloe M. Alcantara and Mae Anne B. Fernandez, who showcased determination, resilience, and strong athletic performance throughout the competition.

The CCHAMS Golden Eagle and now DMMMSU Blue Eagle Arnis Men, Lucky Aquiram R. Aquino, delivered an outstanding performance at the University Meet Arnis Men’s Tournament held at the Jose D. Aspiras (JDA) Hall on December 16, 2025. Demonstrating exceptional mastery of arnis techniques, powerful strikes, and disciplined footwork, he dominated his divisions with confidence and control.

Competing in the Middleweight Padded Division, Lucky showcased sharp defensive blocks, swift counterattacks, and excellent timing, earning a well deserved Gold. He continued his remarkable run in the Middleweight Livestick Division, where his strength, agility, and strategic use of live stick combat secured him another Gold.

Congratulations, Mr. Lucky Aquiram R. Aquino, for bringing honor and pride to the college through your dedication, discipline, and passion for Arnis. The DMMMSU-SLUC and your CCHAMS family are very proud of your success!

Massive cheers for the DMMMSU- SLUC Women’s Softball Team, who won NINE SILVER MEDALS during the University Sports and Cultural Olympics 2025, held on December 15.

The team showed that hard work truly pays off on the field with powerful swings and clutch moments. Each medal is a story in itself, and they are all about passion and determination for the game. They made the field their own—and the spotlight is right where it should be!

The melodic voices of the DMMMSU South La Union Campus chorale captivated the crowd last December 16, 2025, earning the second place in this year’s University Sports and Cultural Meet. Going head to head with the defending champions of the north, the SLUC Eagles fell short in stopping the Northern Chorus from having a back to back win. Amongst the golden harmonies of the SLUC Chorale, was CCHAMS’ very own John Patrick Villegas, a fourth year Nursing student. The SLUC Chorale will be advancing to the Regional level of the competition next year in Vigan, Ilocos Sur.
