ATTENTION ALL CADETS ‼️

The 7th Training Day is on 15 August 2026 (Saturday) at 0700H. This half day will focus on Drills and Ceremonies that will shape cadets' discipline, character, and leadership. Attend prepared and participate actively.

Blood donors should assemble at DMMMSU SLUC on 15 August 2026, the assembly time is 0700H. Donors will proceed from the assembly point to the blood letting area as instructed by the officers. If you plan to donate, please eat breakfast, drink plenty of water the day before and the morning of donation, and get a 6-8 hours of sleep. Do not donate if you feel unwell, have a fever, recently had an infection, and avoid drinking alcohol and taking aspirin or other blood‑thinning medication without medical advice.

Cadets who will not donate blood will remain on campus and attend a lecture on drills and ceremonies during the blood letting activity.

The DMMMSU-SLUC ROTC Unit Completed it's 5th Training Day

On 1 August 2026, the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University–South La Union Campus ROTC Unit held its 5th training day at Marcos Sports Center, opening at 0730 with a general assembly, platoon formation, and attendance checking. At 0830, 1Lt Romel E Lorenzo PA (RES), delivered a lecture on Military Leadership emphasizing proper conduct, respect for rank, responsibility and accountability, leading by example, clear communication, decision-making under pressure, teamwork, and continuous self-improvement. At 1330, Cpl Lindon Paul Aspiras PA (RES), lectured on AFP Customs and Traditions, highlighting pride in service, knowledge of symbols and history, proper protocol for salutes and ceremonies, uniform standards, ceremonial discipline, respect for heritage, cultural sensitivity, and the importance of preserving traditions for future cadets.

After the lecture, cadets returned to their platoons for hands-on basic drill practice to reinforce discipline, coordination, and unit cohesion, followed by a final mandatory attendance check to ensure accountability and maintain military order.

Due to the continued inclement weather affecting our area, the 6th Training Day of the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University – South La Union Campus ROTC Unit will shift to asynchronous classes tomorrow, 08 August 2026 (Saturday), to ensure the safety and well-being of our cadets.

Learning materials, instructions, and activities will be posted in your respective Google Classrooms. Cadets are also advised to check official group chats for updates.

DMMMSU-SLUC ROTC Unit Earns Best in Weapon Proficiency Award in RAATI 2026

MANAOAG, Pangasinan — The Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University – South La Union Campus (DMMMSU-SLUC) Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) Unit was recognized as the Best in Weapon Proficiency during the Regional Annual Administrative and Tactical Inspection (RAATI) 2026, reaffirming the Unit’s commitment to military excellence, discipline, and operational readiness.

The award was presented on 1 August 2026 by MGEN RONALD JESS S ALCUDIA PA, Commander, Reserve Command, Philippine Army, during the celebration of the 53rd Founding Anniversary of the 1st Regional Community Defense Group (1RCDG) at Camp Tito B. Abat, Manaoag, Pangasinan.

The recognition reflects the exceptional performance of the DMMMSU-SLUC ROTC Unit in weapon handling and marksmanship, demonstrating the cadets’ discipline, technical proficiency, and adherence to Philippine Army training standards.

The achievement was realized through the exemplary leadership and professional guidance of COL DAVID A TAQUEBAN INF (GSC) PA, Director, 103rd Community Defense Center (CDC); LTC NARCHITO S ARPILLEDA PA (RES), Commandant; and PROF JOJI ANN M FAMA, NSTP In-charge. Their leadership, together with the unwavering dedication of the ROTC Training Staff, Tactical Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs), and Corps Officers, ensured that every cadet underwent rigorous, systematic, and standards-based training in preparation for the regional inspection.

Beyond technical instruction, the trainers cultivated discipline, confidence, teamwork, and the military values essential to producing competent citizen-soldiers. Their collective commitment to excellence played a vital role in the Unit’s outstanding performance throughout the evaluation.

The DMMMSU-SLUC ROTC Unit also extends its sincere appreciation to COL CAMILO A SADDAM GSC (INF) PA, Chairman of the Regional Annual Administrative and Tactical Inspection (RAATI), for his exemplary leadership in the conduct of the inspection and evaluation. Likewise, the Unit expresses its gratitude to the 103rd Community Defense Center for its continued mentorship, guidance, and commitment to strengthening ROTC programs and upholding the highest standards of military training.

This recognition stands as a testament to the dedication of every trainer, officer, and cadet who worked tirelessly toward a common goal. More than an award, it symbolizes the Unit’s steadfast commitment to excellence, professionalism, and service to the nation.

DMMMSU-SLUC ROTC Unit Completes Its 4th Training Day

On 25 July 2026, the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University–South La Union Campus ROTC Unit successfully carried out its fourth training day at Jose D. Aspiras Hall.

The program commenced at 0730 with a general assembly, platoon formation, checking of attendance and Flag Ceremony. At 0900H, Agent Francisca Refuerzo and Agent Mary Jean Botes delivered a lecture on Drug Education and Drug Awareness, emphasizing the dangers of substance abuse, preventive measures, and the vital role of students in promoting a drug-free community.

The session provided cadets with valuable insights into responsible citizenship and strengthened their role as advocates of discipline and social responsibility within and beyond the campus.

The DMMMSU-SLUC ROTC Unit Completed it's 3rd Training Day

On 18 July 2026, the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University–South La Union Campus ROTC Unit conducted its third training day at Marcos Sports Center. The day opened at 0730 with a general assembly, platoon formation and checking of attendance. At 0830, Sgt Jovelyn Alpon delivered a lecture on Military Courtesy and Discipline, stressing proper conduct, respect for rank, and the standards expected of cadets.

After the lecture, cadets regrouped by platoon for hands-on instruction in basic drills, practicing movements that reinforced discipline, coordination, and unit cohesion. A final mandatory attendance check followed to verify accountability and uphold military order.
