DMMMSU-SLUC ROTC Unit Earns Best in Weapon Proficiency Award in RAATI 2026
MANAOAG, Pangasinan — The Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University – South La Union Campus (DMMMSU-SLUC) Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) Unit was recognized as the Best in Weapon Proficiency during the Regional Annual Administrative and Tactical Inspection (RAATI) 2026, reaffirming the Unit’s commitment to military excellence, discipline, and operational readiness.
The award was presented on 1 August 2026 by MGEN RONALD JESS S ALCUDIA PA, Commander, Reserve Command, Philippine Army, during the celebration of the 53rd Founding Anniversary of the 1st Regional Community Defense Group (1RCDG) at Camp Tito B. Abat, Manaoag, Pangasinan.
The recognition reflects the exceptional performance of the DMMMSU-SLUC ROTC Unit in weapon handling and marksmanship, demonstrating the cadets’ discipline, technical proficiency, and adherence to Philippine Army training standards.
The achievement was realized through the exemplary leadership and professional guidance of COL DAVID A TAQUEBAN INF (GSC) PA, Director, 103rd Community Defense Center (CDC); LTC NARCHITO S ARPILLEDA PA (RES), Commandant; and PROF JOJI ANN M FAMA, NSTP In-charge. Their leadership, together with the unwavering dedication of the ROTC Training Staff, Tactical Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs), and Corps Officers, ensured that every cadet underwent rigorous, systematic, and standards-based training in preparation for the regional inspection.
Beyond technical instruction, the trainers cultivated discipline, confidence, teamwork, and the military values essential to producing competent citizen-soldiers. Their collective commitment to excellence played a vital role in the Unit’s outstanding performance throughout the evaluation.
The DMMMSU-SLUC ROTC Unit also extends its sincere appreciation to COL CAMILO A SADDAM GSC (INF) PA, Chairman of the Regional Annual Administrative and Tactical Inspection (RAATI), for his exemplary leadership in the conduct of the inspection and evaluation. Likewise, the Unit expresses its gratitude to the 103rd Community Defense Center for its continued mentorship, guidance, and commitment to strengthening ROTC programs and upholding the highest standards of military training.
