MAPE Student Advances to the Next Research Stage After Successful Defense๐๐
On May 7, 2026 at the NEW CGS Building, Rosemarie A. Javier defended her research proposal titled:
โAnalyzing the Sociocultural and Psychological Barriers Among Middle-Aged Adults to Zumba Fitness.โ
This proposal marks a meaningful step toward understanding barriers to participation in community fitness and promoting more inclusive engagement in physical activity.

Today, we celebrate more than a diploma. It honors the journey, sacrifices, and the people who walked alongside the graduates as they earned their Master of Arts in Physical Education at Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University - South La Union Campus.

Empowerment in Action: A Collaborative Outreach with 2nd La Union Provincial Mobile Force Company (LUPMFC) in Celebration of Womenโs Month
The 2nd La Union Provincial Mobile Force Company (2nd LUPMFC), led by PLT Precious Llynet C. Culos, Team Leader/PCR PCO, under the leadership of PLTCOL Roland M. Kingat, Force Commander, successfully conducted a community outreach activity in Barangay Ortiz, Naguilian, La Union.
This initiative was made possible through a strong partnership with Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University โ South La Union Campus, through its Advisory Group (Academe Sector), spearheaded by Dr. Ana Maria L. Demot, Program Chairman of the College of Graduate Studies.
In celebration of National Womenโs Month, the program featured meaningful and empowering sessions, including:
โจ Parenting and Family Dynamics โ facilitated by Prof. Maria Elena V. Milan, Program Chairman of the AB Guidance and Counseling Program
โจ Womenโs Health and Wellness โ led by Dr. Ana Maria L. Demot, highlighting the importance of self-care in daily life
To further support and empower participants, a hands-on livelihood training on sayote pickle making was also conducted. Facilitated by Dr. Veronica B. Carbonell, Program Chairman of the Master of Arts in Technology and Livelihood Education, the session equipped women with practical skills and introduced a sustainable alternative source of income.
This collaborative effort reflects a shared commitment to empowering communities, promoting wellness, and strengthening partnerships for inclusive development.
