BPSU has once again joined the ranks of globally recognized green institutions by securing a position in the UI GreenMetric World University Ranking 2026, reinforcing its role as a champion of environmental sustainability. This recognition highlights the university’s efforts in advancing eco-friendly campus operations, climate action, and sustainability integration, upholding BPSU’s reputation as a leader in building a greener future.

Out of 2,016 institutions from 110 countries, BPSU ranked 1,138th worldwide and 70th in the Philippines, marking its emergence as a leading sustainability-driven university in the Asia-Pacific region. This achievement reaffirms the university's strategic vision of integrating green practices across teaching, research, extension, and campus management.

Launched by Universitas Indonesia in 2010, the UI GreenMetric Sustainable University Rankings serves as a globally recognized framework for evaluating environmental performance in higher education. Using 60 indicators across seven criteria, including energy use, waste management, water conservation, transportation, climate action, and sustainability education, the ranking provides an objective benchmark for universities striving toward carbon-neutral and climate-resilient operations.

BPSU's inclusion in this international ranking reflects years of deliberate sustainability initiatives under the dynamic leadership of University President Dr. Ruby B. Santos-Matibag. Notable efforts include becoming the first solar-powered state university in the Philippines in 2024, launching energy-efficiency research projects such as Project Berhiya, and championing climate-action summits aimed at fostering a net-zero future for Bataan and beyond.

Collectively, these accomplishments affirm BPSU's role as a model of sustainable innovation in Philippine higher education, demonstrating that environmental responsibility and academic excellence can advance hand in hand.

BPSU officials and student leaders held a dialogue on the proposed mechanism for the implementation of the school-uniform policy, providing an official venue to discuss student concerns and possible implementation arrangements. The meeting brought together the University Student Government (USG), Office of the Vice President for Student and Alumni Services (OVPSAS), Office of the Vice President for Administration (OVPAD), General Services Unit (GESU), and University Security Unit (SCTY), September 24, 2026.

Present during the dialogue were VPSAS Dr. Adrian Perdio, VPAD Prof. Cristina Rivera, Student Regent and USG President Axcel Nojadera, USG Vice President Kurt Cobain De Belen, GESU Director Sir Bienvenido Bascara, and Security Unit Deputy Sir Jefferson Cruz. The participants discussed the proposed uniform mechanism across all campuses and considered its practical implications for the student body and the University’s operations.

The consultation allowed student representatives to directly raise questions, share perspectives, and communicate the concerns of their constituents to the concerned offices. The participation of key administrative units ensured that matters involving student welfare, administration, campus services, and security could be discussed through a coordinated and constructive process.

The BPSU Administration remains committed to listening to and addressing student concerns through official channels and constructive dialogue as part of its efforts to uphold responsive, inclusive, and student-centered governance.

ASPIRING BPSU COLLEGE OF MEDICINE APPLICANTS


Calling all aspiring applicants to the BPSU College of Medicine: please be reminded that September 30, 2026, is the last day to register for the National Medical Admission Test (NMAT).

The NMAT is a standardized admissions test administered by the Center for Educational Measurement, Inc. (CEM) for applicants to medical schools in the Philippines. It assesses essential academic and mental abilities relevant to medical education, and the resulting NMAT score is used by medical schools as one of the bases for evaluating applicants’ readiness for medical training.

If you aspire to pursue your medical education at BPSU, take this important step toward your goal of becoming a physician. Complete your NMAT registration on or before the deadline.
