These papers were published in Q1 and Q3-ranked journals, reflecting the quality and reach of the college’s research output. In academic publishing, journals are categorized into quartiles (Q1–Q4) based on their impact within a discipline, with Q1 representing the top 25% and Q3 covering the 50–75% range, both contributing valuable peer-reviewed research.

This milestone highlights the college’s strong commitment to advancing impactful research, fostering innovation, and contributing meaningfully to global scientific knowledge.

These international research citations reflect the work of CAFES faculty members whose studies have been published and cited in SCOPUS- and SCIE-indexed journals, demonstrating scholarly rigor, relevance, and meaningful contributions to agriculture, forestry, environmental, and food sciences.

This milestone affirms CAFES’ role in advancing research that resonates beyond borders and contributes to ongoing scientific and academic discourse.

The conference’s Scientific Session, successfully hosted by the 𝐑𝐨𝐲𝐚𝐥 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 (𝐑𝐔𝐀), brought together participants from 16 countries, creating a diverse and engaging platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration.

The study examined the impacts of extension interventions among almaciga tappers in Palawan, with particular focus on the Batak tribe in the Cleopatra’s Needle Critical Habitat. It highlighted how initiatives such as sustainable tapping practices, nursery establishment, and alternative livelihood programs contributed to improved income, stronger community organization, and increased conservation awareness.

This participation reflects CAFES’ continued commitment to research excellence, community empowerment, and active engagement in global academic networks.

𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐆𝐄 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄: The 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞, 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 conducted a comprehensive 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 for graduating students in the 𝘔𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘚𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘏𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 and 𝘔𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘚𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘙𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘭 𝘋𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘱𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 programs. The workshop aimed to enhance academic writing competencies and support the preparation of manuscripts for submission to reputable peer-reviewed journals, in compliance with 𝘊𝘏𝘌𝘋 𝘔𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘶𝘮 𝘖𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘕𝘰. 21, 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧 2025, which outlines the Policies, Standards, and Guidelines for graduate programs.

The College Dean, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐊𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐁. 𝐀𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐝𝐞 together with Program Chairpersons 𝐃𝐫. 𝐑𝐨𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚 𝐋. 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬 (MS Horticulture) and 𝐌𝐬. 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐏. 𝐆𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐳 (MS Rural Development) facilitated the activity, providing guidance on scholarly writing, publication ethics, journal selection, and the peer-review process.

The workshop resulted in the successful preparation and submission of 𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 (𝟖) scientific papers to 𝐒𝐂𝐎𝐏𝐔𝐒-𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐱𝐞𝐝 journals, reflecting the College’s commitment to research productivity and scholarly excellence.

The 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 has successfully retained its 𝐋𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐈𝐕 status, while the 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 and the 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐇𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐬 have been granted 𝐋𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐈𝐕 Re-accredited status. In addition, the 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 has achieved 𝐋𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐈𝐈𝐈 Re-accredited status.

These distinctions reflect the College’s strong adherence to established standards in instruction, research, and extension, as well as the strength of its faculty profile. These further demonstrate the College’s sustained commitment to academic excellence and continuous quality improvement. Moreover, these accomplishments affirm the institution’s role in producing competent, socially responsible, and globally competitive graduates in the fields of agriculture, forestry, and environmental sciences.

The College of Agriculture, Forestry and Environmental Sciences proudly shares its contribution to strengthening agricultural development.🌱

Assistant Professors Lira L. Malagsic and Necodimus F. Cañas served as resource persons during the Training on Rice Pest and Disease Management (AEW Capability Enhancement Training) conducted by the Agricultural Training Institute – MIMAROPA on April 13–17, 2026 in Crystal Paradise Resort, Narra, Palawan.

The training brought together 30 Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) from across Palawan, equipping them with practical knowledge and hands-on skills to better manage rice pests and diseases in their communities.

Through initiatives like this, CAFES continues to empower agricultural frontliners and champion sustainable, resilient farming.

Just as the heart sustains the body by supplying life to every part, purpose gives life and direction to a team. It determines the kind of members involved, their qualifications, and the qualities they must possess. Without a clearly defined and deeply rooted purpose, a team lacks strength and direction. However, when that purpose is firmly established in the hearts of the members, commitment grows, and cooperation becomes natural, as each person willingly contributes toward the success of the team’s goal.
