An uproar of cheers, laughter, music, and excitement echoed across the grounds as students came together to enjoy the moment and celebrate the spirit of camaraderie.

The College of Agriculture, Forestry and Environmental Sciences (CAFES) proudly celebrates another remarkable achievement by one of its faculty members, ๐Œ๐ซ. ๐€๐ง๐š๐ฌ๐ญ๐š๐œ๐ข๐จ ๐“. ๐‚๐š๐ ๐š๐›๐ก๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐ˆ๐ˆ๐ˆ, Assistant Professor III of the Home Economics Department.

Dr. Marcos E. Bollido (BS Agriculture Program Chair) and Dr. Anne Gellie P. Limco (Director - International Relations Office) participated the 10th International Agriculture Congress (IAC10) held on September 8โ€“10, 2026, in Melaka, Malaysia.

The congress, hosted by the Faculty of Agriculture, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), carried the theme โ€œFrontier Technologies for Agriculture Resilience and Food Security,โ€ bringing together researchers, academicians, agricultural practitioners, policymakers, and industry stakeholders from different parts of the world.

Dr. Bollido presented his research paper entitled, โ€œEvaluation of Locally Formulated Feeds on the Growth Performance of Broilers and Native Chickens.โ€ On the other hand, Dr. Limco presented her poster entitled, โ€œFrom Peel to Profit: A Circular Economy Model for Transforming Banana Pulp and Peel into Market-Ready Products through Value Addition, Sensory Acceptability, and Cost Analysis.โ€

Their participation highlights CAFESโ€™ continuing commitment to research excellence, international engagement, knowledge exchange, and the advancement of innovative and sustainable agricultural technologies.

The College of Agriculture, Forestry and Environmental Sciences (CAFES) actively participated in the Fire Safety and Preparedness Seminar held on September 10, 2026, at the University Gymnasium.

The seminar provided an important opportunity for our faculty members to strengthen their knowledge and awareness of fire prevention, emergency preparedness, and appropriate response during fire-related incidents. More than gaining knowledge, the activity emphasized the importance of being alert, prepared, and responsible in keeping our university community safe.

As educators and members of the university community, the CAFES faculty remain committed not only to academic excellence but also to promoting a culture of safety, preparedness, and collective responsibility.
