IT WAS A DREAM for every local government unit to have at least a public college that will cater the needs of poor citizens for a good and cheaper education system. It is a connotation in world of politics that once you have a free or cheaper education system, you have the eyes of voting citizens. In the case of the town of Marilao, Bulacan, a prosperous first-class municipality north of Manila, t
his education system is no longer a dream for citizens who can''t afford a higher level of education. The Pambayang Dalubhasaan ng Marilao was established by the Local Government Unit of Marilao to deliver a much cheaper if not free education for Marilenyos. The school will start its operation by June 2010 wherein an individual can take information technology and other courses. According to Mayor Peping V. Guillermo, it is important for every local government unit to give attention to education of the youth because in these youth lies the future. " Let us provide education to whom this education is due; if we don''t give them education who else will? "said Mayor Peping Guillermo. The community college lies in an almost a hectare of land donated by the family of Atty Henry Villarica and Linabelle Villarica, better known as " LV ". "My mother herself was an educator by profession. She was a teacher who taught values and knowledge. Together with my father, she raised us all and reminded us that education must be almost ahead of everything in our lives" stated Atty. Henry Villarica during the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the said college. "My husband and I, together with my brother in law W***y Villarica, always discussed about the future of Marilao''''s youth, like, who will provide education to these young and talented Marilenyos. Luckily for me, we all have the same concern about these youth''''s education," said LV who might run for 4th district of Bulacan seat in the House of Representative. Marilao is lucky to have energetic and dynamic leaders like Mayor Peping V. Guillermo and Vice Mayor Tito H. It is during their term that Marilao has reached the pinnacle of progress and clean leadership.
