The Hagen Central Student Association hosted the 1st years orientation night at UPNG's Arts Lecture Theatre on April 4th. Jeremiah AU, the association's Chairman, was the Master of Ceremony.

Jeremiah welcomed students and guests, including reps from other associations plus the Western Highlands Students' Union. He acknowledged the special guests, setting a positive vibe for the night.

The orientation was a hit, with Jeremiah keeping things moving smoothly. He concluded the night by thanked everyone for coming, showing his leadership skills on high note.

Jeremiah's confidence and energy impressed everyone, proving he's a leader to watch at UPNG!

The UPNG Hagen Central Student Association hosted its 1st years orientation night, and we were honored to have William Sent as our fourth speaker. He's a respected economist, serving as the first Secretary with Agriculture and livestock Ministry and a senior politician in Western Highlands province.

Mr. Sent shared some hard truths with us, saying our government isn't functioning well and needs young, vibrant, and intelligent minds like yours to step up. He emphasized that finding a job these days is tough, especially for young people, but encouraged everyone to be creative and think outside the box to earn a living.

He urged us to take charge and make a difference, highlighting the importance of innovation and determination.

Mr. Sent concluded by congratulating the 1st years on making it to the premier university and wishing us all the best in our studies.

The University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG) Hagen Central Student Association successfully held its 1st Year Students' Orientation Night on Saturday, 4th April (Easter Saturday).

The evening was made special by the Keynote speaker, Mr. James Yoka Ekip, a respected accountant, successful businessman, and senior politician in Hagen Central, Western Highlands Province. Mr. Ekip's speech was very inspiring, as he talked about the rich history of Hagen, highlighting the achievements of their ancestors and showing the way to success. He stressed his belief in the heritage of their ancestors, mentioning how Hagen's early settlers farmed, as recorded in the K*k Agriculture Heritage.

Mr. Ekip pointed out the great legacy of the late Paul Pora, the first millionaire in the Pacific, and highlighted the business spirit of the Hagen people, shown by famous places like the Komkui Building and the Wampnga Business group.

His main message encouraged the Hagen Central Student-body to remember their roots and aim for achievements that would help not only themselves, but also their families, communities, district, province, and Papua New Guinea. He encouraged students to be thankful for being part of Hagen, giving them a sense of gratitude and purpose.

The University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG) Hagen Central Student Association hosted its 1st Year Students' Orientation Night on Saturday, 4th April (Easter Saturday). The event was a great opportunity for the new students to get familiar with the university life and meet their fellow students.

One of the speakers, Miss. Jacklyn Urulu, a Market Insights Adviser with PNG National Stock Exchange, spoke about seizing opportunities during study time. A native of Hela province, she expressed her gratitude to the people of Hagen for their warm welcome and hospitality, which enabled her to pursue her education. Ms. Urulu concluded by thanking the people of Hagen Central for their kindness.

Miss. Urulu's speech was inspiring, and she encouraged the students to make the most of their time at the university. She shared her own experiences and highlighted the importance of being proactive and taking advantage of the resources available on campus. Her message resonated with the students, and they were motivated to work hard and achieve their goals.

The University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG) Hagen Central Student Association hosted its 1st Year Students’ Orientation Night on Saturday, April 4th (Easter Saturday).

The event featured Mr. Joseph Kaile, a Research Officer with the Politics and Government Research Program at the Papua New Guinea National Research Institute (PNG NRI), as the second speaker.

Mr. Kaile, hailing from Chimbu Province, spoke about building connections and fostering relationships, emphasizing the importance of unity and harmony.

He expressed gratitude to the people of Hagen for their hospitality and for providing access to quality education, acknowledging the province’s peaceful and welcoming nature.

Mr. Kaile concluded by thanking the people of Hagen for their generosity and warm hospitality.

Hagen Central Students' Association (HCSA) UPNG hosted its 1st Orientation Night on 4th April

Our first speaker and Patron, Mr. Presley Puri, Deputy Secretary with the National Statistical Office, has warmly welcomed everyone to the HCSA Orientation Night. He expressed his gratitude to our esteemed guests, including James Yoka Ekip (Keynote Speaker), William Sent, Joseph Kaile, and Jacklyn Urulu, for attending this special event.

Mr. Puri has graciously accepted the role of Patron for HCSA at UPNG, and we're honored to have him lead the way. His commitment to empowering students is inspiring, and we're excited to have him share his insights with us.

Thanks to Mr. Puri for setting the tone for an amazing night.
