As the Administrative Lead of PNG Agro SME Incorporation Ltd, I want to share something important with all our fellow Papua New Guineans.
This is not just the achievement of one company owner. This is like a hospital for Enga businesses and for many ordinary people across our province. When people are struggling and need real help to start or grow a small business, they come to us – just like sick people go to the hospital for treatment.
Since we started in 2022, our team has reached out to people in every part of Enga – from the main centres right down to the most remote and isolated villages where even government services sometimes cannot reach. Places like Lum in Kompiam, Lower Porgera, Lowerlie in Wapenamanda, Maramuni, and many other hard-to-reach areas.
We don’t see ourselves as just another company trying to make money. That was never our vision. Our real purpose is to give a helping hand to local people so they can build a better life for their families, especially during these difficult times our country is facing.
We help farmers, mothers, youth, and small business owners move from backyard gardens or informal selling to proper small and medium enterprises (SMEs). This means they can register their businesses, access loans, find better markets, get training, and create real income for their families and communities.
By 2023–2024, our work had already touched three key districts – Wabag, Wapenamanda, and Kompiam – and continued to spread further. Recently, we proudly opened our new head office in Wabag so we can serve our people even better.
This is a home-grown, 100% Papua New Guinean-owned company, run by Engans for Engans and for all Papua New Guineans who want to stand on their own feet. We believe when local people succeed in business, the whole province and the whole country becomes stronger.

Yesterday, in a colorful ribbon-cutting ceremony in Wabag town, Mr. Dicky Lao who is the director of our partner PNG N0.1 SME Limited has officially opened the new office complex of PNG Agro SME Incorporation Ltd. The event was well attended by the local business community, marking another significant step in our growth and commitment to serving the people of Enga and Papua New Guinea.
