My name is Marapa Simon Ekanda, and I am proud to be graduating with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Honours) at PNG University of Technology (PNG UNITECH). This moment is not just a personal achievement, but a reflection of the support, sacrifices, and opportunities that have carried me through this journey.
I would like to take this time to sincerely express my deepest gratitude to Hela Undialu Education Foundation (HUEF) for sponsoring my education over the past four years, from 2022 to 2025. Your support has not only eased the financial burden on my family but has also given me the peace of mind to fully focus on my studies. It was truly a relief for my parents, knowing that their son was supported through such an important stage of life.
This sponsorship was more than just financial assistance, it was an investment in my future. There were many challenges along the way, including sleepless nights, academic pressure, and personal struggles, but knowing that I had the backing of HUEF kept me motivated to push through and never give up.
Today, I stand here as a graduate because of that continued support and belief.
I also want to acknowledge the Hela Government for this great initiative, under the leadership of Honorable Philip Undialu. Programs like this are changing lives and building the future of our province by empowering young people through education. I am truly grateful to be one of the beneficiaries.
As I step into the next chapter of my life, I carry with me the values, knowledge, and discipline I have gained throughout my studies. I hope to give back to my community and contribute meaningfully to the development of our country just as HUEF has contributed to my journey.
