MBSU successfully hosted it's annual orientation program yesterday, welcoming the first year students, continuing students, distinguished guest, and our Patron, Mr. Elliot Tovaboda as the Union embarks on its 2026 Journey together.
The first-year students hail from secondary schools across the province as well as other provinces where they completed their secondary education. They will be undertaking studies across diverse discipline including Science, Business, Law and Humanities.
MBSU is proud to highlight the admission of two students from Kiriwina Secondary School in Law school. This is a notable achievement given the historical record of low admission of law students from secondary schools in our province. It is one of our union objectives to strengthen strategic awareness program to secondary schools across Milne Bay, with the possibility of affiliating with other Milne Bay student associations to conduct awareness program aimed at increasing the number of school leavers in Milne Bay Province enrolled in tertiary institutions.
Our Guest speakers and Patron also challenged students to be agents of change, urging them to implement the knowledge and skills they attained and embody the changes they wish to see in their lives, families, and communities.
Welcome onboard first years🥳
