๐ Iarowari Agro Technical Secondary School, Central Province
Our team proudly conducted our first school engagement visit outside Port Moresby to Iarowari Agro Technical Secondary School in Central Province, on Thursday, 21st May, 2026.
During this visit, we delivered three key educational topics aimed at empowering students with relevant knowledge and practical skills:
1. Digital Literacy and Safe Use of Technology
Delivered by our Senior Digital Learning Officer, Mr. Nehemiah Jastus - this session equipped students with essential knowledge on responsible technology use, online safety, and digital awareness in todayโs fast-evolving world.
2. Financial Literacy
Delivered by Mr. James Sabadi, Accounting Lecturer from IBS College -this session focused on teaching students the fundamentals of money management, including budgeting, saving, and making informed financial decisions for their future.
3. Career Planning and Future Pathways
Delivered by Ms. Tanya Tore, Career Development Centre Instructor - this session guided students on identifying career goals, understanding available study pathways, and making informed decisions about their future education and employment opportunities.
๐ As part of our visit, we also presented five copies of Sir Mick Nades autobiography to the school library.
This is just the beginning of our journey to reach more schools beyond the city and empower students with the knowledge they need to succeed after Grade 10 and 12.

Empowering Students Through Awareness ๐ก
IBS College of TVET hosted an insightful guest lecture on HIV & AIDS Awareness on Wednesday, 20th May 2026, as part of the OHS module.
Delivered by Dr. Muthu Prabha Venkitachalam, the Guidance Counsellor and Head of Student Affairs at IBSUniversity, the session provided our Batch II, Certificate 3 & 4 students with important knowledge on health, safety, and responsible decision-making in both personal and professional settings.
At IBS College, we believe education goes beyond the classroomโit's about preparing students for life. ๐

๐ Making a Difference Together!
IBS College of TVET students and staff recently visited Callan Services PNG at Gerehu Stage 6 as part of our Community Visitation Program.
Through a fundraising initiative, we donated essential items including books, stationaries, caps, and toiletries to support children with disabilities accessing inclusive education.
A big thank you to our team led by Mr. Kevin David, Mr. Paul Andy Korike and Mr. Wasa Malu for making this meaningful outreach possible.
We acknowledge Callan Services PNG for the exceptional work they continue to do in supporting inclusive education and community-based rehabilitation in Papua New Guinea.

๐ Woot Woot! Gerehu Secondary School
Yesterday we had the incredible opportunity to engage with over 3,000 students at Gerehu Secondary School, addressing the entire school community in one powerful session.
Our special topic was on mental health and wellbeing awareness, delivered by our Guidance Counsellor and Head of Student Affairs, Dr. Muthu Parhaba. The session encouraged students to prioritise their wellbeing, speak up, and support one another.
We also introduced the programmes we offered at IBSUniversity and through our Southern Cross University Collaboration and pathways through IBS College of TVET, giving students a clearer vision of a possible higher education journey after secondary school.
We were also pleased to present five copies of Sir Mick Nades Autobiography to the school.

Weโve had an incredible time connecting with bright energetic studentsโand yesterday was no exception!
Our team visited Port Moresby International School, where we had the pleasure of speaking to Grade 12 students about:
-Programmes at IBSUniversity & Southern Cross University
-Pathways through IBS College of TVET and
We also delivered two special sessions:

We had a great time with the students at PIMS today! Thank you for having us!
It was wonderful to engage with students and share the career pathways available at IBS college of TVET, IBSUniversity and Southern Cross University.

Today we had a meaningful and impactful visit to Kopkop College, where we engaged with Grade 12 students in an informative and interactive session.
Our Nurse, Sr. Kondowa, delivered a practical and insightful session on Basic First Aid, equipping students with essential life-saving knowledge and skills. The session sparked great interest and participation from the students, highlighting the importance of health awareness and preparedness.
In addition, our team shared a brief overview of the academic programmes offered at IBS College of TVET and IBSUniversity, giving students a glimpse into the opportunities that await them in higher education.
As part of our continued commitment to education and leadership development, we were also pleased to present five copies of Sir Mick Nadesโ autobiography to the school, contributing to their learning resources and inspiring future leaders.
