🔬 UPNG Science Fair 2026

The University of Papua New Guinea, through the School of Natural and Physical Sciences, hosted the UPNG Science Fair 2026 from 18th–19th August, with the UPNG Science Students Society (SSS) and UPNG Science Research and Innovation Society (SRIS) spearheading the event.

The Fair brought together UPNG and high school students to showcase science projects and explore the role of science and innovation in Papua New Guinea’s future.

The School of Natural and Physical Sciences (SNPS), in partnership with the UPNG Science Students Society (SSS) and the UPNG Science Research & Innovation Society (SRIS), proudly invites the university community, high schools, industry partners, and the general public to the UPNG Science Fair 2026!

What a great turnout 🤩 at the UPNG Science, Research & Innovation Society (UPNG SRIS) Google AI Study Hacks Workshop - proudly facilitated by our Events Coordinator, Mr. Bonnie Enosh Amof (MSCS V).

We had 56 participants take part from all the various schools at UPNG - thank you for making the time to be part of this exciting session!

This workshop wasn’t just another lecture. It was a hands‑on, peer‑driven experience where students explored how to integrate AI into their study routines using:

🔹 NotebookLM - mastering private notes with active recall quizzes, precision flashcards, mind maps, and audio/video overviews.

🔹 Gemini - Diving into Deep Research workflows, Guided Learning with the Socratic Method to reason through processes and concepts, and using Canvas to create Structured outlines for Documentation.

The energy in the room was inspiring - students left with practical tools and strategies to transform their study habits, reduce stress during the “Week 12 Crunch,” and focus on genuine conceptual mastery.

Thank you to all parties involved in the success of our event, we truly appreciate it.
