Hi everyone! We’ve put together this infographic to explain to our members and the wider science divisions exactly how lab practicals are decided on for presentation in our club. As you know, UPNG SRIS is a student-driven science club dedicated to facilitating student-led presentations of your various practical projects. Our goal is to create a space where we can teach each other, share our innovations, and gain valuable experience presenting to a broader audience beyond the classroom.

Sparking Curiosity and Shaping the Future: UPNG SRIS Orientation 2026

Our theme for this year, “Spark Your Curiosity: Discover, Innovate, and Inspire,” is more than just a slogan—it is our roadmap for the year. To Discover is to look beyond the textbooks and explore the unknown; to Innovate is to take those discoveries and craft practical solutions for Papua New Guinea’s challenges; and to Inspire is to lead by example, encouraging the next generation of thinkers to reach even greater heights.

A significant highlight of the night was the certificate presentation. We took a moment to express our deep gratitude to the 2024 and 2025 Executives. Your leadership and resilience during your terms laid the foundation for the heights we aim to reach. Thank you for your dedicated service!

We also officially welcomed our 2026 Executive team, led by President Miss Regania Posman. We are confident that under this new leadership, SRIS will continue to grow as a disciplinary hub for students across all schools and disciplines.

Founder and first President of UPNG Science Research and Innovation Society, Mr. Ipipa'e Arinaso Balome. He founded the club alongside with Mr. Jessy Apenda (who is also the first male Vice President for this Science Club).

They both graduated in April 2025 with Bachelor of Science Majoring in Physics at the University of Papua New Guinea.
