【50th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Japan and Papua New Guinea】




The year 2025 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and the the Independent State of Papua New Guinea. The year 2025 will also mark the 50th anniversary of independence of Papua New Guinea. Japan and Papua New Guinea have been important partners. In order to make 2025 a year for further promotion of cordial relations between the two countries, we will implement a wide range of exchange programs such as politics, economy, culture, youth exchange, and tourism. We encourage exchange programs to be organized by the related associations and the private sector, as are collaborative activities by government and private sectors.

Our 4 top Grade 12 Japanese students: Joe Wak, Alnia Iua, Lina Nozawa & David Roma received their passports, visas and roundtrip air tickets between PNG and Japan from Principal Feria on Thursday,12 September 24. They departed for Japan the next day for a week long cultural exchange tour! Their trip is made possible with generous funding from SOJITZ FOUNDATION, Mitsubishi UFJ Foundation and Sogeri!
